Thameen is the new Saudi UK-based line of Basel Binjabr, debuting with five fragrances "each inspired by legendary treasures and gemstones": Noorolain Taif, Amber Room, Peacock Throne, Moon of Baroda and Carved Oud.

Noorolain Taif (above left) ~ "The world famous Noorolain Tiara has inspired Thameen's signature fragrance. Noorolain literally translated means 'light of the eye' and captures the notion of the most beautiful thing the eye can behold. It is the name given to the 60 carat pink diamond mounted in the Noorolain Tiara, created for the Iranian royal wedding in 1958 and designed for Empress Farah Pahlavi by Harry Winston. This inspired Thameen to aim to create the most beautiful scent to behold. The jewels of Baie rose pink peppers and their cousins coriander and black pepper create the surround for the central setting of Taif Rose, Jasmine and Turkish Rose. The triumvirate of florals mingle with the gilded base of Agarwood, Amber and Cashmere wood. Mesmerising."

Amber Room (above right) ~ "The fragrance is inspired by The Amber Room, a chamber lined entirely with amber panels backed with gold leaf and mirrors. When lit with candles it glowed like trapped sunshine. Smoky, warm and glowing, the heady amber, as seductive as its inspiration, is lit with Italian bergamot, sensual Turkish rose and warmed through with spices, cinnamon and cedarwood. Glowing."

Peacock Throne ~ "Created for the Mughal Emperors of India in the early 17th century, the Peacock Throne was one of the most opulent treasures in history. The platform of pure gold was encrusted with enamel, gems and a double peacock's tail set with rubies, emeralds, pearls and diamonds. At its heart lay the Kohinoor diamond, the largest known diamond in the world. The scent opens with luminous Indian jasmine, Egyptian oris and pink pepper pearls. At its heart lies the rose of Taif, (one of the oldest cities in Arabia), its ruby glow, full and extravagant. At the base, rich warmth comes through the princely patchouli, sparkling vetiver and burnished vanilla. Majestic."

Moon of Baroda ~ "A canary yellow, 24 carat diamond of extraordinary clarity was discovered in Baroda, India and has since travelled from Mughal dynasties to Hollywood. Hypnotic Lebanese cedar is one of the most beautiful and ancient ingredients in perfumery. The spicy, resinous oil is identical in hue to the gemstone that inspired this fragrance and opens the scent with a piquant, cognac-laced intensity that invigorates the emotions and warms the senses. A glowing amber heart flows over woody, sweet sandalwood from Mysore - the finest of its kind on earth - intense and spiritual in mood. Finally, a double dose of cedar brings this fanciful landscape to a close. Luminous."

Carved Oud ~ "Solah Shringar is a 16 stage ritual to prepare royal women for public appearance. Indian Royalty were considered somewhere between man and god and this ritual adornment with perfumes and jewels created something of super-human presence. The name itself comes from temple designs and decorations and the image of a woman, once decorated, as a perfect, carved goddess. The unique Oud from the South of India, angular and sweetly edgy, dictates this heavenly scent. The top note blends beautifully with cedarwood and guaiac. At the base, a pure patchouli and sun-baked vetiver add depth and warmth polished off by a smooth, temperate musk. Divine."
