Smurfs Blue Style

Later this month, the Smurfs brand will launch five fragrances in conjunction with the release of The Smurfs 2.1 The scents were made under licensing arrangements with First American Brands, and join the existing Smurf fragrance range.

The Blue Style Smurfs 3-D Collection, aimed at children under 10, includes four Eaux de Toilette: Papa, Clumsy, Vanity and Smurfette. The first three are unisex, the last is feminine. All will be available in 50 and 100 ml.

Smurfette Blue Magic is aimed at women 13-30, and features notes of mandarin, pink pepper, red raspberry, peach blossom, wet leafy greens, hyacinth, lilac, amber, patchouli and woods. It will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

The Smurf fragrance line will be available at Toys R Us.

1. According to a news report I saw online this week but can't find now, the production costs of The Smurfs 2 were paid for entirely out of product placement deals and product licensing arrangements.

Why do I sort of want these and believe that they will smell good? I think it’s the look on Vanity’s face. I am cracked up by the weirdly progressive idea of unisex perfumes for the under 10 set, though. Wouldn’t it be nice if gender stereotypes had been so broken down by now that every parent in America would be excited to buy their 8-year-old son an eau de toilette? Smurfs, you are ahead of your era.

I often want the silly Hello Kitty bottles, but admit these do not call out to me. Smurfs are just ugly — I’ll stick with kitties 🙂

But who knows, maybe they do smell good!

LOVE your point about the unisex scents for kids! Especially since the word “perfume” is still gendered for the majority of the population, as far as I can tell.

No Jokey? They don’t do much for me either.

There is a Jokey? I guess I should google the Smurf names, but not going to, ha.

The one that always gives exploding ‘gifts’. I liked that one. I only liked I think, three Smurfs..none of the above for the bottles though.

I want to believe that my tastes at 13 were somewhat different from my tastes at 29. Funny to think that they are considered part of the same marketing group!

I saw these and the “blue style” logo made me laugh, thinking about the new Comme des Garçons blue series

“The existing Smurf fragrance range”? Where have I been?

I’m not the one who gets really concerned all that much with health safety regarding fragrances, BUT… I’m just wondering if they take extra caution when targeting children AND selling it at Toys’R’us. Did they avoid common ingredients that are related with hormonal issues, for instance?

Maybe they are in fact made with Tryptophan, to chill out hyperactive children/pre-teens:). Not to joke, seriously I think they probably would take extra caution and would have to, the way things are regulated these days:).

Thing is, fragrances are less regulated than most substances you are exposed to. For instance, they don’t have to list what is in a fragrance, that is why on many ingredients list you’ll only see “fragrance”.

Well I recently tried Kung Fu Panda EDT and it wasn’t bad at all, so I won’t rule anything out!

I was raised Jehovah’s Witness and smurfs are like the biggest taboo! (We heard stories of screaming demonized smurf dolls cursing in Kingdom Halls and smurf sheets smothering good little JW children in their beds!) So now that cult-free and “apostate” I want all of these! MMMM I don’t even care if they smell good or not–Smells Like Apostate Spirit!

That is both very funny and very odd! I wonder why the Smurfs get special attention over, say, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the devilish children’s programing department?

Very funny, very odd, and very sad. There is wizard in the Smurfs, and wizardry and magic make a direct line to the demons in their opinion. I don’t remember what their views were on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I don’t remember any magic in that show. If given the chance, they could wrench all of the fun out of any pursuit just to keep their followers frightened and isolated. I am so glad to be free of all that.

No magic in TMNT, just bad pseudoscience! I’m guessing the whole Harry Potter thing isn’t so popular, either, huh?

Joking aside, I *am* saddened by any belief system that controls people through fear and forced herd behavior. I’m glad to hear that some people find a way out!

When I was a kid, TMNT angered me because they called turtles amphibians! I should have written a letter 🙂

Hey, RavynG, I survived a Jehovah’s Witness upbringing myself — we stopped going when I was 14 or 15. Demons supposed to be in just about everything, including the Smurfs. I remember the stories of babies found dead in their cribs next to Smurf dolls. In the 80s, most cribs had Smurf dolls in them, but, of course, cults don’t believe in coincidence. I totally understand the desire to buy and display one of these just to “stick it to the man!”

no Lucky Charms cereal, trolls, or watching Bewitched….no Christmas, Halloween, Easter or even Thanksgiving. And pray every night you will never need a blood transfusion! People really have no clue what goes on behind closed Kingdom Hall doors. Congratulations KindCrow–you made it out! Ok just to get it all back on topic— I still can’t smell some perfumes without gagging because of being stuck in a windowless room for 2 straight hours sitting next to an old lady who took a bath in whatever she could douse herself with by stopping at a drugstore on the way to the meeting so she could use the tester! For me Kingdom Halls in the 80’s smelled like fake Obsession knock-offs and Giorgio and Jovan Musk combined with breath mints and playtex deoderant tampons (in the purse!).

I had a smurf collection when I was a kid but these just don’t do it for me.
