Hmm. I wonder if this will be a less expensive Duchaufour take on India than Bombay Bling.
(I suspect that “modern day Maharajas” spend more time on cell phones and in sports cars than wandering around old forts).

      Should be cheaper, yes!

I’m sorry. But listening to this chap I kept thinking of Caractacus Potts and Truly Scrumptious! I’m sure the perfume is very nice. But that blotter strip looks suspiciously similar to a Toot Sweet… any moment the dogs may come rushing in … !

Sadly, I had to google Caractacus Potts and Truly Scrumptious. It has been a long time.

Errrrr. Nope. Sad is that Truly and Caractacus are major cultural touchstones in this household. Very very sad!

The perfume sounds intriguing, but I have to say I kept thinking I was watching a clip from a new Christopher Guest mockumentary–a Best in Show of perfume (which would, BTW, be a brilliant idea for a movie).

LOL – you’ve got me thinking that NST should do the Prix Eau Faux as a video contest someday!

I just had the chance to smell this at Saks. On my skin, it is a very fresh, very dewy rose twinged with saffron. I thought it was well done, but it wasn’t redolent as spices as I was expecting. I’m not sure where the spices were. It was just really fresh and sheer. Even the SA said that it was really fresh. As for the carrot, I didn’t get that at all. Maybe it’s because they only had enough to dab, not to spray?

Oh, thanks for the report — not at all what I was hoping for.

Same here. Tried it and was disappointed. It’s a pretty rose scent when what I’m after is a spicy rose that has more going on. Oh and mine was a spray. I’ll keep looking, but I’d take La Fille de Berlin (Serge Lutens) over this.
