Up for grabs: Acqua di Parma Colonia

Posted by Robin on 2 July 2013 116 Comments — Comments are closed

adp-colonia-set

What is it: a 100 ml bottle of Acqua di Parma Colonia, plus a travel set with small tubes of Bath & Shower Gel, Hair Conditioner and Body Lotion. All items are unopened, but the packaging is slightly different from that shown above.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite Acqua di Parma fragrance or b) your favorite classic cologne or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Saturday, and I'll announce the winner on Monday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

Got a big smile on my face when Jean Nate was mentioned upthread; I have such fond memories of the ladies in my family dousing themselves with it to combat the summer heat of the Deep South in the days before we all had air conditioning.

I live in the US and I love ADP Mandorlo Di Sicilia. One of my other favorite colognes that doesn’t get much love is Roget & Gallet Bouquet Imperial which reminds me of L’Artisan Mure et Musc, but with less of a berry scent, but really nice in the summer, and very unisex. I think by now it’s probably discontinued.
    thanks!

  38. Elle Golbane says:

My favorite Acqua di Parma is simply the lotion of AdP Colonia – it is classic, and that bouquet of summer scents brings a smile to my face every time. I remember the very first time I smelled it from a sample I got in a boutique and was mesmerized.
I live in the U.S. Thank you, Robin!

  39. lindeberg38 says:
    2 July 2013 at 3:51 pm

I live in the US in NYC. I am obsessed with the Aqua di Parma
Essenza deodorant spray. The huge can lasts me at least 5
to 6 months or longer. And, in the summer it’s all I need to use
on a hot summer day. So strong, I can smell it on my body the next
morning. Truly perfection. This winter I may need to go back and
get the actual fragrance too, but for now, another purchase
of the deodorant spray will do fine. 16 ounces of pure heaven.

  40. RusticDove says:
    2 July 2013 at 3:53 pm

I do live in the US.

My favorite AdP is between Mandorlo di Sicilia and Iris Nobile, but the Colonia is one of my husband’s favorites, so it would be way cool to win this for him. 🙂

Not sure what classic cologne actually means, but maybe the following is a reasonable definition: I think it’s beautiful, and at least complex enough to hold my interest. My fiancee thinks it smells like aftershave at some point during the scent’s development. Possibly I agree, but that doesn’t stop me from loving it.
    -DSH Bermuda Lyme
    -biehl eo 02
    -Union Quince Mint & Moss
    -Nicolai Eau MiXte
Many thanks to a magical Perfume Fairy Godmother from Perfume Posse for introducing me to two of these beauties!

I live in the U.S., and lately I’ve been enjoying Chanel’s wonderful Eau de Cologne. It, like so many true colognes, is fleeting on my skin, but that doesn’t make it any less lovely! (Guerlain’s Eau de Cologne Imperiale is also quite lovely but has even less staying power: I can hardly travel from one room to the next without losing its scent!)

  99. missionista says:
    3 July 2013 at 1:14 pm

    Hi!
    I live in the U.S.

I didn’t think I had a favorite classic cologne, as I couldn’t think of any, but then I read the comments and saw Jean Nate mentioned. I loved that–I remember my mom would wear it in the summer, and every so often as a special treat, I’d get to have a splash of it as well!

For more modern colognes, I bought a 30ml bottle of Atelier’s Trefle Pur, so I guess that would be it.

I live in the US and my fave cologne is Guerlain 68. It’s also my only cologne unless you count some vintage shalimar in cologne concentration.. Thanks or the draw!

I live here in the U.S. Last week we went to Cedar Point in Ohio. On our way home we stopped by the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. I sampled the Colonia Intensa Oud at Nordstrom’s and thought it was really nice. Bel Ami would be my classic cologne. Thanks!

I live in the US, and my favorite classic-style cologne is Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford. It’s new, but it smells like a classic to me!

Hoping to get my entry in, just under the wire 😉

I have never had the chance to properly sample any offerings from Acqua Di Parma. Upon a couple of occasions smelling their wares on scent strips my request for a vial was unfulfilled. Getting the chance to check out this legendary fragrance would be truly appreciated.

That said, my favorite classic is Dunhill For Men (Eau De Cologne 1934). This is truly an under the radar classic, that I believe was ahead of it’s time, and inspired many later masculines. Guerlain’s Vetiver and Old Spice are also strong contenders.

If I were to be so lucky to win, you have permission to contact me via my email associated with my profile.

Best of luck to all, and happy 4th weekend to all fellow US citizens.
