La Mer Pearl of Sea ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 8 May 2013 11 Comments

La Mer Pearl of Sea

Skincare company La Mer has launched Pearl of Sea, a new fragranced body spray:

The cooling La mer Body Spray with Sea Silt Extract and marine ingredients is rich in minerals and trace elements. The fine spray is immediately absorbed and refreshes the skin pleasantly. A light, fresh fragrance embraces the body, enhancing well-being and lifting the spirits – just like a wonderful day by the seaside.

PEARL OF SEA Body Spray is a delicate fragrance with a fruity head note that melts into a bright, floral heart note which surrounds your body like a fresh sea breeze. The fragrance bouquet is rounded off by the sensuous scent of musk in the base note.

La Mer Pearl of Sea is available in 100 ml.

It would be a miss to market this fragrance without skin care properties as it is to not to mention the notes…

I know…and I looked all over for the notes, but even Cosmoty does not have them so guessing they were not in the press release.

No price. With La Mer its a if-you-have-to-ask-you-can’t-afford-it scenario. Cosmetic-Cop has a really amusing analysis of La Mer cosmetics if anyone is interested!

I think I probably read that at some point — I am not generally into expensive skincare.

Fruity floral with a clean musk base. It sounds so cutting edge.
    *yawn*

Would be interested to smell it just to see if that’s all it is, even from La Mer.

I’m very surprised that a “serious” skin care line like La Mer would come out with a fragranced body spray. That said, I hope to get a sample at Nordies!

Seems kind of surprising to me too — would think they’d do a “full scale” perfume if anything at all.

What exactly is Sea Silt Extract and what does it do? I swear to god La Mer takes the cake when it comes to hyperbole and tricky publicity. I bought their moisturizing cream and it is the best I’ve tried but I don’t think it warrants 150 dollars an ounce, no cream does. There is a debate about whether creams actually do work, and it is the general medical consensus that none of the cosmetic creams work, or at least not in the way they are advertised.

I mean for a cream created by a Nasa scientist, and called a Miracle Broth I think the least you could expect is some back up to the claims?

Sea silt = dredged up mud from the sea?
