L’Occitane just sent me a handsome brochure, along with a sample of Jasmin Bergamote. Haven’t had luck w their frags, but curious to try this one.

I really want to try that one…sounds nice. So far have only tried the Vanille Narcisse, which I think is well done.

I’m looking forward to trying the Vanille & Narcisse, It’s supposed to arrive at my local L’Occitane tomorrow. I work for the State, and to save money, they furlough us one day per month. I’m taking Thursday as my April furlough day — perhaps I’ll stop by L’Occitane and take a sniff.

I think it’s quite funny how l’Occitane is trying to introduce this “perfumer as author” concept that at least visually reminds me a lot of Hermes and JCE and don’t forget to mention Grasse as much as they can when their fragrances are anything but a personal take on a theme. Also the bottles look very cheap to me.

It has worked so well for Hermes — I think we will see this more & more.

I tried the Vanille & Narcisse (V&N) EDT today. I loved it for the first hour or so. I agree that it is well done. It dried down to something that is good, but that I can live without; plus, my husband does not like L’Occitane’s amber note, and it dominates the dry down of V&N EDT, so I settled for a bar of the soap. Do you know of anything with a similar narcissus note?

You know, I really don’t — I don’t even have a “favorite” narcissus other than discontinued things like Dior Dior. It is not a note I go looking for but sometimes it is lovely.
