I allowed a B&BW employee to give me a “preview” spray of this fragrance. Mistake. I couldn’t wait to get home and wash it off. I can tolerate or even (mildly) enjoy many B&BW scents (in moderation), but this one seemed truly vile to me. It felt like a bad joke.

Oh dear. Don’t understand what BBW is up to these days…the product line seems almost random at this point.

It’s as if they think customers don’t have a sense of smell at all. At least they insult us inexpensively…

Yes – I used to like some of their scents, but the last couple of years’ launches have really turned me off, to the point where I seldom even go in the store to check things out. And I know from experience that an apple note in scents doesn not work for me, so this one won’t be changing my mind any.

They seemed to be leaning less young/more upscale for a bit, then they reverted, then they did the more “prestige” Forever Red, now we’re back to apples & daisies.

I tried Forever Red on my previous visit… I didn’t love it, and it doesn’t really smell “prestige,” but I didn’t mind wearing it on my ride home. It will probably appeal to Black Amethyst fans.

I tried it quickly & was surprised, did not seem noticeably different in character than the rest of the line.

Yeah, this is an apple-y fresh floral. I only put it on card, not on skin. It doesn’t have berries, which makes it the oddball among everything they’ve released in the last 2-3 years. I’m really kind of bummed out with the direction BBW is going in. There are fewer and fewer things I find interesting at all there.

I liked them best when the stores briefly went “apothecary” & were carrying other cool brands.

Yeah, some of those Henri Bendel candles they used to have were fantastic.

I actually really liked their Irresistible Apple, and loved it as a body wash. I wonder if this is close to that? I haven’t bought anything there in years, so I don’t know what things are like there these days. They were always at least cheap fun for stocking up on bubble bath.

Worth a shot to see then!

There have been a number of BBW scents I’ve liked over the years (Brown Sugar & Fig, White Citrus, Coconut Lime Verbena) but I haven’t smelled anything in the last couple of years that that has interested me. And they seem to have gone the path of throwing a bunch of new releases out there each year and discontinuing another bunch. That’s not a marketing strategy I like.

They’ve redone CLV too, which is too bad. Used to love it, now it has a weird kind of “generic man smell” base.

It is apparently now Coconut Lime Breeze. :/ I just had to look at the website, since I hadn’t been in the store in years, and they got rid of everything I ever liked. Sigh. Way to go, BBW. You mess with CLV, but keep Cherry Blossom and the even more hideous Japanese Cherry Blossom. GAG.

(My sincere apologies if I just offended anyone. If it helps, I like Black Amethyst, which I know people were pretty much appalled by.)

White Citrus is one of the few scents in their main line that I like anymore.

I’m guessing that U2 is not going to allow the use of their song “Beautiful Day” to promote this (from “All that you can’t leave behind…”).

One of my gripes about the fragrance bidness in general these days is the insistence on cramming as many “notes” as possible into a perfume, cologne, soap, or any other product. I like grapefruit all by its lonesome – rather boring to some, I know, but it’s a nice smell.

Apple has nothing to do with Springtime–apples are a Fall fruit. Now if they did it with Apple Blossom–maybe. Peaches are Summer fruits. If I want apples and peaches i will stick to any shampoo/conditioner formula by Herbal Essences. (<sarcasm)
