Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2012, part 22

Posted by Robin on 1 November 2012 23 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Cartier Baiser Volé leather edition

From Cartier, Baiser Volé wrapped in pink leather. £94 for 100 ml at Selfridges in the UK.

Biotherm Eau Oceane for Mission Blue

From Biotherm, Eau Oceane in a special edition to benefit Mission Blue's efforts to increase protected marine areas. In 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via vogue.fr)

Hermès Terre d'Hermès, 2012 limited edition

From Hermès, the 2012 limited edition of Terre d'Hermès, available in three variations. In 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via aufeminin)

Bond no. 9 Central Park West When It Shimmers edition

From Bond no. 9, Central Park West in the "When It Shimmers" edition with "2,500 sparkling Swarovski gems". $580 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Earlier this year there was also an edition with the crystals on the flower instead of the bottle.

Yves Rocher Moment du Bonheur limited edition 2012

From Yves Rocher, Moment du Bonheur in a limited edition metallic shimmer design for Holiday 2012. In 50 ml Eau de Parfum at Yves Rocher in France.

Gorgeous! Thanks for the link: I can’t read the French but it seems to be going for 100 or so Euros which is not a bad price either.

No, I’m afraid that particular bottle (the Boule Papillon) is 190 euros for 100ml. It’s the ordinary bottle that’s 114 euros.

Oh! I guess that does sound more plausible – thanks for correcting!

You’re welcome. I’m sorry for the bad news.

No worries! Annick Goutal is not available where I live so I haven’t even smelled this: I was just admiring the pretty bottle. And I love the name Boule Papillion for it!

It is…that’s in our holiday gift series for this year.

Its quite funny how borderline bland the Hermes bottles are, and how totally over the top and borderline vulgar the Bond one is!

With Central Park (as well all other NYC parks) currently off limits to the public (because of danger from fallen or about to fall trees and limbs) and large parts of the city still without power, the Bond bottle seems accross the border line of vulgarity at the moment.
Yes, I know that Bond could not have predicted the storm when it ordered the bottle, so the timing is unfortunate.
On the other hand several hundred dollars for some swarovski rhinestones seems ridiculous to me anyway.
Bling lovers, buy yourself a couple of gross of swaroski beads, and some beading thread and bedazzle yourself for a lot less.

They do make quite a contrast! I like the Hermes bottles, but have liked some of the prior designs better.

The Terre trio is lovely. I can’t decide which one I like best.

I always like those Hermes bottles. Simple. Like you I prefer the middle one, I think.

I get a kick out of the Bond bottles that get the bling treatment but so not worth it. To me, anyway. I have been seduced by bling elsewhere.

I thought ‘mummy’ when I saw the Cartier. Not a fan, don’t really care for that scent either. Tdh reminded me of Burberry bottles, meh. Bond looks like a knitting project gone wrong but with ‘gems’. Lol. pass.

I like the Cartier scent and I REALLY like its ‘ordinary’ bottle. I have the 30ml and every time I use it I admire the design, and the feeling of quality. There is just something creepy and macabre about this one, um – oh yeah, its wrapped in leather…

I like the mummy bottle, but can already see that it would end up filthy — I’m not careful enough to keep pink leather bottles.

Indeed. Dark leather would acquire a nice patina, but pale pink leather would just get horribly grimy. I expect there are some people who lead a ‘pale pink leather’ kind of life. LOL!

Do you get Elastoplast or Band Aid there? Its what you wrap around your finger when you cut it…

Um, meant to say that the pale leather looks exactly like these plasters to me!

Has there ever been a bunch o’limited edition bottles that has not featured Swarovski crystals?

Yes, but Swarovski-free collector bottles are rare these days!
