Quasar (for men) by JDL is one of the craziest ‘formulas’ I have seen. Yet it works and has a real cult status here in the states. I’m curious to see what the Halloween will be like. The apple martini hmmmmm…does that mean ‘sweet’ apple? I can’t remember having had a bitter apple martini. Dunhill used green apple in the Dunhill London for men but then again Dunhill London smells like birthday cake. Dunhill also bragged about the green apple (they had to, nobody thinks of apples when they think of London) when Dunhill London came out but it smells like birthday cake.
The ‘musk, woods, cinnamon’ that the JDL Halloween for Men promises does kind of remind me of the Yankee Candle Company fall collection.

My LORD that’s a horrible commercial.

Heh — I kind of like it! I love that they didn’t have women crawling all over him because of his perfume, and that it’s so sort of weird and grungy instead of SEXY SEXY SEXY “this perfume will get you laid” like 95% of fragrance ads.

I do think they could have pushed it another step in the creepy/scary direction … I’m guessing that people who would buy perfume because the ad is creepy are a pretty small minority, but I’m one of them so there you go. Also, that is a BEAUTIFUL young man, he really was well-cast.

Oh he is a cutey alright! I completely agree with you on the message of the commercial…by ‘bad’ I meant the quality seems pretty poor. You see it and my first thought was oh look….they’re being followed by a guy with a spotlight and a camera.
It is NICE to see a fragrance without a guy in a suit or modelling at the beach (like Kenzo Sport). I’m quite casual and never wear a suit and anyone can forget about me posing at the beach!

I’m with Thalia on this one. Anything that’s a little offbeat I appreciate, because in general perfume commercials all seem the same.

I keep thinking, “Hey, Mr. Halloween Man, play a song for me…”
