What an odd commercial…
It is extremely strange, and unsettling on a number of levels. Last thing I’d use for a perfume commercial.
Well. Where the heck are these Fanning girls parents? They are both talented young girls but they are exactly that, YOUNG. I’m no prude but these Marc Jacobs ads are smutty and these girls are too young for the level of suggestiveness.
I did not find this one suggestive though — more like generally creepy.
The Lola was overtly suggestive, but this one is subtly so with the antlers and Elle in the virginal white dress, makes me think of fertility rituals and the offering of young girls.
it’s a very on-brand ad for a fanning. Not sure if it sells the perfume so well.
I thought that was really beautiful ! A little haunting and at times strange, but u can not deny the artistry in the direction and the beautiful set design ! It reminded me of a film called Anti Christ ! Now that’s a doozie , I would not recommend this film to any one as its disturbing on so many levels !

Can totally see what you mean about Antichrist! Very difficult yet oddly compelling film.
I agree – It is a difficult film, and definitely not suited for ‘light’ viewing. To me this ad is stalker-ish creepy, and unsettling in a different way.
I never saw Antichrist.. after what I heard and read about it I wasn’t really sure I wanted to.. I did but I didn’t. The only von Trier movie I’ve seen is “Dancer in the Dark”. I bought the soundtrack before I ever saw the movie because I am a fan of Björk, and while the soundtrack was really great, I was never able to listen to it again after I saw the movie because I found it so excruciatingly sad. This also figured into any trepidation I felt at seeing another von Trier movie.
It reminds me of that M Night Shalaymans movie The village, I love it. But I also find her age disturbing. I’ve never thought of LL as a kids perfume.
I thought this was beautiful – the only sexual part in my estimation was her peeking behind the tree, where there was a slight cleavage shot that I felt unnecessary given her age.
This ad is simply beautiful. I’m so glad it doesn’t look like any other perfume ads, but like a movie (Lars Von Trier, Shamalayan etc). Check the artist who made it: Yoann Lemoine, aka Woodkid (he made the video for Lana Del Rey’s Blue Jeans).
It’s weird to have a 14 y o girl advertising Lolita Lempicka, but it’s called Le Premier Parfum, do it’s the good target!
It is creepy, like she’s trying to run away from serial killer creepy. Her age doesn’t help in that regard either. Jmo!

Maybe I’m an odd one here, but I didn’t find it that disturbing. I thought it was really pretty. I thought she was supposed to be a Diana/Artemis-type figure.
This commercial is no creepier than the fact that Elle Fanning was cast as Princess Aurora in Maleficent. Now that is creepy, and makes no sense what so ever. What was Disney thinking?
On a “positive” note, at least Elle has better taste in fragrance than her sister, Dakota 😉

At least, “Once Upon a Time” cast Sarah Bolger as Princess Aurora. Now she is someone who is young, graceful, and talented.
At first it looked like she could be the daughter of Lady Galadriel (from Lord of the Rings) then the whole thing turned Twilight-ish … “decisions decisions” …
Will try the fragrance, I like all LL fragrances although I only ever wore Fleur de Corail.
i don’t see anything creepy about it. in fact, i found it to be really pretty. the cinematography was excellent. seemed like they were going for a fairy theme and if so, elle was perfectly cast. the commercial definitely fits the brand. nice to see a fragrance ad be about something other than faux-glamour and/or sex.
Certainly, there are both Artemis and Lolita references there!
