Heidi Klum Shine My Rose ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 17 August 2012 13 Comments

Heidi Klum Shine My Rose

Heidi Klum has launched Shine My Rose, a new flanker to 2011's Heidi Klum Shine (and see also Summer Shine).

The notes for the fruity floral fragrance include passion fruit, rose petals, blue chamomile, lychee, strawberry, violet, cedarwood, patchouli and vanilla. Shine Rose was developed by perfumer Aliénor Massenet.

Heidi Klum Shine My Rose is available in 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

For some reason this name made me laugh. I want to start using it as an exclamation of surprise and disbelief, a la “I’ll be damned”. “Heidi Klum and Seal are getting divorced?! Well, shine my rose!”

LOL! I had a similar response: it made me think of a very demanding diva ‘You there…person. Yes, you. Get my tea, cut my milk (a la Stewie from Family Guy) and shine my rose! NOW!’

Because a tiny corner of my mind belongs to a 12-year-old boy, the first thing that occurred to me was that this phrase would make for terrific innuendo. (“Heidi Klum? I’d like to shine HER rose, if you know what I mean.”)

You’re not the only one… though I interpreted it as more of a solo hobby. “Hold all my calls, Miss Bumstead– I’ll be shining my rose until 3:15 sharp!”

It’s very silly! And many places (possibly even Coty) are reporting it as “Shine Rose”, even though the box does appear to say “Shine My Rose”.

To me it sounds like a euphemism for “kiss my a–“, if you know what I mean. . .

Well, you know in fashion, one day you’re in and the next day you’re shining your roses.

Perhaps the next flanker will be Gild My Lily.

Ineke might not be happy with that name.
