Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Oud ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 July 2012 12 Comments

Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Oud

Italian niche line Acqua di Parma has launched Colonia Intensa Oud, a new flanker to 2007's Colonia Intensa, which was a flanker to 1916's Acqua di Parma Colonia.

An exclusive and elegant fragrance born from the authentic union of the vibrant and enveloping notes of Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa with Oud oil, an extremely rare oil extracted from agarwood, a precious resin of the aquilaria tree.

Colonia Intensa Oud Concentrée opens with a citrus aroma before revealing its extraordinary personality of a heart full of precious ingredients such as agarwood, Russian coriander and Haitian amyris wood. This structured blend evolves into musk and leather. A new interpretation is born - Eau de Cologne Concentrée.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Oud can be found now at Harrods in the UK, in 100 ml Eau de Cologne Concentrée, £130.

I just love the dark heafty bottles , I always imaging the juice inside these bottles to be strong deep and heady! Very refined and masculine ! I am yet to explore a oud fragrance with a citrus opening , sounds wonderful ! Eyes peeled as I’m sure I have seen these in Mecca cosmetica !

I like these bottles too, but it sounds a bit contrived to me…will certainly try it though!

I rolled my eyes a bit when they make a point of mentioning how precious oud is , and rare! As we all know oud may be these things but …. At this time not very original ! That’s ok with me as I’m a huge fan and one that has arrived late to the party ! Glad u like the bottle to 🙂

Jeez – that’s all I can say, just about. When Acqua Di Parma start ‘doing oud’, then we know we’re in trouble.

I think I would appreciate oud more if it was just put in fragrances instead of constantly being in the perfume title as if there is a fear by the perfume houses that their costly investment of using oud goes unnoticed by the consumer. Still, I am keen to see how AdP works with oud but I am not convinced I need another oud perfume.

I’m looking forward to trying this fragrance. I have 1/4 bottle of Colonia Intensa left in the 1.7 size. I love it and wear it sparingly. I also have Colonia Essenza, which I’m not very fond of, too floral, it’s also in the 1.7. Almost a full bottle, If anyone is in Atlanta I will sell it to you for 50 bucks.
I don’t do 100ml or 3.4 bottles of cologne, this may be a sticking point in my purchasing this one. I have not delved into Oud yet, from a purchase standpoint, I did spray some of Creed’s latest Royal Oud. It was fabulous but pricey. I hope ADP comes to their senses.

Tried this in Selfridges, London. Apparently all stock is sold out, new expected by end of October or something.
When I tried a tester, the opening was citrus and then Oud started coming in. However, this is definitely a feminine fragrance and it finally settles down like a jasmine, oud powdery smell.

Not for me, happy with Le labo Oud instead!

Good luck finding this one! Every boutique i’ve been in has been out of stock. And I live in NYC!! Seriously though, it’s the best oud i’ve smelled in a long time. nicely done. expensive but can’t wait to have it.

Very late but just wanted to chime in here:
I get the Oud overload. Have some BK Rose Oud but for the most part it’s been ‘yep. ok. Another Oud.’ But this is FABULOUS. It’s in true AdP form- sophisticated and quality, and it’s rich and downright sexy. I’m not surprised it’s sold out. I bought it after one sniff.
