Posted by Robin on 27 April 2012 18 Comments

Comme des Garcons Red Play & Black Play

Comme des Garçons will launch a new trio of fragrances under their Play label next month: Red Play, Black Play and Green Play. The new fragrances follow 2007's Comme des Garçons Play.

Design by not designing
No design is design
The prototype is strong

Simple Classic Forever
PLAY is the iconic mark of COMME des GARÇONS

Absence of concept is creation
Colours just as they are

RED PLAY perfume is RED, BLACK PLAY perfumes is BLACK, GREEN PLAY perfumes is GREEN.

Three brothers same family – Same bottle – Different personalities – Different box.

Red Play ~ featuring red mandarin, pink peppercorn, safraleine, red cherry accord, geranium, cinnamon, osmanthus, myrrh and balsam of Tolu.

Black Play ~ with notes of black pepper, pepperwood, red pepper, violet, thyme, black tea, birch tar, incense and tree moss.

Green Play ~ the notes include mint, nanah, lime, juniper berry, basil, jasmine, mastic tree, abelmoschus, vetiver and cedar.

Comme des Garçons Red Play, Black Play and Green Play will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Hearts with eyes kind of freak me out. But I’m not sure if any of these 3 colors appear to me. RED looks quite feminine to my eyes, BLACK is too much about pepper while GREEN might be interesting, if some notes which are not of my liking aren’t the dominant ones.

I am not fond of the graphic logo in any case. But won’t care if I love the juice!

Yeah, I would have to turn the bottle the other way so it doesn’t stare at me while I sleep!

If you like Green – you should check out A*Men Pure Shot.. very similar.

Gosh, has it really been five years since Play came out? I’m not a fan of the original but I always like to smell whatever CdG comes out with. Green sounds most interesting to me.

Holly sh*t ! see why the Prix Eau Faux IS necessary… reality will always triumph over art! LOL

The original Play was red if I recall correctly? so the RED is like the original red?

Perfume cat is perfumed.. and confused! 😀

      Ha, so true!

The original Play used a different version of the red logo, it’s true.

    “Colours just as they are”

mmm… seems kinda conceptual? I love CDG and their silly ad copy. Green sounds promising.

I admit I love it too…their silly ad copy is sillier (& thus more entertaining) than anybody else’s.

CdG is always fun to try! Green scares me a little…Red sound interesting…Actually, they all sound worth seeking out, even if none of them seems perfect for me.

investiie, mint nanah is moroccan mint, or spearmint, have a look below:

‘green play’ reminds me a lot of harmatan noir because of the mint nanah, fortunately it does not smell plasticky or like toothpaste, it is quite natural, think mint julep or mojito.
