Jo Loves Mango Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 20 April 2012 15 Comments

Jo Loves Mango Collection

British niche line Jo Loves will launch the Mango Collection in July, comprising three fragrances: Mango Nectar, A Shot of Oud over Mango and A Shot of Thai Lime over Mango. The scents were reportedly inspired by a night Jo Malone spent watching cocktails being mixed at the Four Seasons in New York.

Mango Nectar ~ featuring mango leaf, bitter orange, pink grapefruit, mango nectar, apricot blossom, jasmine and musk.

A Shot of Oud over Mango ~ with mango, black pepper, freesia and oud wood.

A Shot of Thai Lime over Mango ~ notes include mango, Kaffir lime, black pepper, freesia, mint leaves, white thyme and vetiver.

The Jo Loves Mango Collection fragrances will be available in 30 and 100 ml.

Oh, these looks kinda interesting. I like the bottles. I haven’t smelled any of her’s from that new line.

I haven’t either, and don’t know how widely distributed they are at this point, even in the UK.

I have ordered some samples of the first 4 fragrances, for free. And I can’t wait to smell them. I saw that they bottles are sold out, of every 4 of them, so I imagine, they are a big hit in UK 🙂

Hi littlecooling. Would you mind sharing how you got free samples of the first four in the line? Thanks! 🙂

Oud over Mango – yeesh, the latest example of over-saturation – the ‘let’s-jump-on-the-oud-bandwagon’ syndrome…. Will it ever stop. I’m waiting for an oud sports fragrance yet.

Plus, the idea of a cocktail containing oud is sort of nauseating. Lime and mango, yes. Fungal wood, no.

Mango is one of my favorite notes in perfume so I really want to try these. And while oud almost never works on me, I actually like Montale Mango Manga so perhaps this would work, too. Must try these and agree with Olenska that the first and last frags sound like delicious drinks. 🙂

On the website, it states that 2 samples are free but in UK only (American Sobbing Here). They will deliver candles here in North America, but they are £75 which seems a lot for something that is “unsniffed”. Can’t wait until they have samples for us, too, even if we have to…gulp…pay for them!

I do like mango, don’t like lime, can’t stand mint, not sure about grapefruit. So, the only one I would want to try I think is the Shot of Oud Over Mango. But not sure about the freesia in that one. I guess I would have to test to make sure. Mango Nectar may be worth a sniff though. I will totally pass on the Thai Mango, no thanks!
