Immortal Mine ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 21 March 2012 22 Comments

Immortal Mine

Immortal Mine is a new perfume from Maria McElroy of Aroma M and Alexis Karl of Scents by Alexis (the duo is also responsible for the Cherry Bomb Killer brand):

Inspired by 19th C. vampire novel Clarimonde, Immortal Mine is created from rare vintage ouds and ambers, subtle essences of smoke, touches of unknown incense and drops of night blooming flowers. This resinous, exotic scent with oriental notes captures all that is dark and mysterious and is held within a hand blown Bohemian crystal bottle with hand laid filigree.

Immortal Mine is available now at Indiescents, $200 for 10 ml Perfume Oil.

(via indiescents, hat tip to Donna!)

It all sounded great and right up my alley until I got to the price- then I sucked air in through my teeth like my Grampa used to do! I know nothing of this duo so a sample it shall have to be and hope I don’t like it. 🙂

I think the 1/2 ml. sample was $20!

Samples are available on etsy. The price is the same ($10), but free shipping in the U.S. The bottle looks different on etsy. I prefer the one at indiescents, but for those who aren’t sure check out etsy.

They do have a knack for packaging…the Cherry Bomb hearts were adorable and this bottle is exquisite. And the prefume itself sounds awesome.

I sprang for the Cherry Bomb at $60, but $200 is more than I am willing to part with for 10ml, I think, although I note that it’s an oil.

I’d be willing to try a sample but I can’t quite pull the trigger on $8.95 for shipping one sample. I seriously wish companies would offer more than one shipping option for smaller orders.

You might check Etsy, I think the brand sells over there too — although don’t know if they sell samples there, sorry.

While this isn’t my style of scent, I will cop to admiring the bottle. It’s really a piece of art. Fancy schmancy indeed!

It isn’t my style of bottle either, but I can see why someone would love it.

Exactly. If I saw that on someone’s vanity, I’d be all “Ooooooh, what’s that?”

For a moment I thought it was a new scent from Carmel’s Ajne perfumery. Beautiful bottle, lovely looking notes but crazy expensive.

Thanks for the Etsy tip, I have a sample on the way!

With my luck, I”ll probably fall hard for it.

Please let us know what you think of it. I love how it sounds but that price is insane. The bottle is pretty but I wouldn’t spend that much just for that.

Will do…..I’d probably pay the price for the bottle if it were 50ml and I liked the perfume, but for 10, I don’t think I would.

I paid 60 for what I think is 5 ml of Rebel Angel, which was pricy enough! I think I’d have gone a hundred for this if I liked it, because I am a bottle tart for sure….but that $200 is more than I really have to spend for 10 ml, even though it’s oil.

But who knows, maybe I’ll really, really like it enough to spend the money.

Darn, I meant to say I’d probably pay that price for 30ml!

I’m with you. I’d pay $200 for a 50 ml bottle (one that I could see without my reading glasses)

    Love the bottle and description.

But they priced like it contains Dracula’s tears too 🙂

No thanks, I’d rather have a bottle of True Blood. Or for this price, a van lol.
