Michael Kors Suede ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 March 2012 20 Comments

Michael Kors Suede

Michael Kors has launched Suede, a new limited edition fragrance for women:

Radiating with sensuality and providing an illusion of barely there, Michael Kors Suede was inspired by the simplistic sexiness of clean, bare skin. The fragrance is a voluptuous tuberose, warm and tactile, with velvety smooth characteristics similar to that of sun-drenched skin. This beautiful, blossoming fragrance is for every modern woman who desires a feminine and sensual scent. A trace on the neck and a whisper between the shoulder blades—an invitation to touch.

The notes include mandarin, orange blossom, waterlily, violet leaves, jasmine, tuberose, michelia, gardenia, sandalwood, plumeria, musk and cashmere woods.

Michael Kors Suede is available now at Sephora, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $75.

I had hoped it was meant to smell like suede, but I’m guessing it won’t, from that list of notes. I guess I won’t have to be rushing to Sephora to test this one!

It is hard to tell — I think the suede might just be a texture thing, not an actual leather note.

I would have tried it, if they removed the jasmine, tuberose and gardenia.

I am not sure if it’s meant as a flanker to Michael, but I’d guess it is — and those are the notes from Michael.

Exactly! Me, too! Can’t stand the original but the bottle is a terrific design. Prefer his Island series.

I smelled this on a scent strip and think that is pretty similar to the original Michael Kors but maybe softer. I’m interested in trying it as anything tuberose has my attention at the moment.

I never thought to apply perfume between the shoulder blades–guess I’m just not flexible enough. How many people apply there?

I guess you could always spray over the shoulder 😉

The paper strip scent in Instyle smelled a lot like the original Michael .Based on that I will probably test it and like it.

The original didn’t have Waterlily, Violet leaves, Plumeria or more importantly… GARDENIA! which was funny because when Michael was Originally released it was all about it being this SUPER DUPER Hyped-and-Sexed Up TUBEROSE Fragrance and then the very next year, Marc Jacobs released his eponymous fragrance which was all about GARDENIA… i only mention it because at that time those were kinda the two notes dominating fragrance and that two house that were both becoming so Super Successful at that time would each focus on ONE of the flowers seemed almost like they were aping one another…. though this sounds as GORGEOUS as all his flankers… it’s still a Michael Flanker… wish he’d do another NEW Scent, Cus i do ADORE Michael and Very Hollywood but he needs a new scent soon!

All of his scents smell pretty similar to me. That being said I think they are for the most part quite nice. Flowery but nice.

I tend to get confused which are pour femme and which are not on the Michael Kors shelf because the bottles all seem so masculine. Is it just me or does square block shape suggest pour homme?

“Barely there” and “tuberose” do not belong in the same sentence.

When I saw the name of the fragrance, I assumed it was for men. The name and bottle could pass for a mens cologne.

I thought it was for men too. Great name, nice bottle. Who would expect flowers inside? Confusing.

They could’ve at least updated the bottle a little bit.
