Perry Ellis Aqua ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 March 2012 8 Comments

Perry Ellis Aqua

Perry Ellis has launched Aqua, a new fragrance for men:

Perry Ellis Aqua opens with sheer citrus and marine notes. Smooth and refined with warm amber and sensual woods, the fragrance transpires naturally through a sexy infusion of vetiver and musk to intensify masculinity, freshness and sophistication.

Perry Ellis Aqua can be found now at Dillards, in 100 ml Eau de Toilette ($60).

    Pretty bottle.

The notes seem like everything but the kitchen sink, all wrapped up in aquatic notes. Yuck.

It doesn’t sound overdone to me, but I’m not a big fan of aquatic.

I’m not a fan of aquatics either although some do smell nice but not necessarily like anything I want to smell like. I like them better as air fresheners or cleaning products. I will sniff this because I do like some of the notes.

Love that blue bottle and with the old fashioned typography creates a retro look.

As Ikat says above, the notes suggest this could be practically anything.. so I’ll check it up when it comes by Argentina.

I have not been too impressed w/ what they’re doing with this brand lately, but anything is worth a try, right?

You are right and methinks they certainly lost a golden oportunty a couple of years back…. there was this revival look of perry ellis polo shirts for men, worn with skinny jeans big boots and very short hair… an edgy look they could have exploited. With several young actors rocking that look. They could have done a “Hooligan by Perry Ellis” with ads featuring bad boys and barely clad skinny broads..hehehehe wait! this is not my Prix Eau Faux submission, eh! 😉

HA! I was wondering how this revival totally passed me by. Then again, I have no idea who Fred Perry is either — I really don’t know fashion.
