Aldo A Is For Aldo

Canadian footwear & accessories brand Aldo has launched their debut fragrance collection, A is for Aldo. There are three fragrances for women and two for men. The women's fragrances (white bottles) are:

Blue ~ for sexy and seductive women; with bergamot, freesia, lemon verbena, heliotrope, jasmine, magnolia, cocoa, black amber, tonka bean, musk and plum.

Red ~ for the "sensual passionate woman"; notes include icy peach, bergamot, jasmine, honeysuckle, rose, sandalwood, amber and musk.

Yellow ~ for chic, playful women, featuring mandarin, grapefruit, neroli blossom, honeysuckle, jasmine, sandalwood, amber and musk.

In 10, 30 or 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

And the two for men (black bottles):

Red ~ for modern classic men; notes include citrus, anise, bergamot, cedarwood, orange blossom, patchouli, tonka bean, musk and vanilla.

Yellow ~ for sporty men, with bergamot, cardamom, ginger, mango, marine notes, jasmine, pepper, cedar, moss, musk, and sandalwood.

In 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

From black, male ones – red is more interesting to me.
I wonder if their fragrance will be as expensive as their shoes (don’t know about other countries but in Poland, Aldo is pretty expensive store)

It still will be worse than Nord & Sud from Wittchen, that I just discovered.

I don’t know the brand. I do like the packaging, but the scents are calling out to me.

Aldo isn’t too expensive here in the U.S. – typical mall sort of store. These sound interesting – I’ll have to check them out.

Of course, bottles for men are black! They couldn’t be blue, or green… or purple! AND no small bottles for us!

Not even a 30 ml — so true.

I popped into an Aldo a few days ago and saw these and thought they were confusing as HELL. Maybe I didn’t take enough time to thoroughly investigate them, but there wasn’t anything to indicate what was different about the scents or what the notes might be. I just assumed it was different colored bottles of the same fragrance and left it alone. Would that their own store display had been as officious as this website.

The ad, cute as it is, totally fails to tell you anything about the scents — it’s too bad.

Tried on the women’s blue and red scents. The blue was awful on me with a strong synthetic opening. It was only toned down by the 3rd handwashing so I wandered over to Barneys and spritzed my wrist with Musc Ravageur so that would overpower the remnants of blue on my hand. Now I smell quite good. Red is nice enough and they are certainly cheap thrills–$15 for 10 ml, $25 for 30 ml and $45 for 75 ml but, quite truthfully, I’ll probably spend my spare money on Girl Scout cookies
