Scratch ‘n sniff jeans

Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Denim jeans

Naked & Famous Denim has launched Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Denim jeans for men:

Our newest crazy creation has just been released to stores worldwide… Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Denim!

Yes, these jeans actually smell like raspberry candy when scratched. The effect is created by coating the denim fabric with a special coating that contains mini microcapsules. The coating is applied and then baked into the denim. The tiny capsules have a bit of “perfume” inside and as you scratch them the scent is released.

These jeans come in our WeirdGuy fit, in a 12.5oz indigo denim with red leather patch.

We have done 5 wash tests and the smell effect still works well!

The jeans can be purchased at Tate + Yoko, $150.

Fun! And the design is ok. I hope this launche won’t spread the “no-bath, no-washing culture” so common on teens. 😉

If it was something better than raspberry, I’d want some!

*smirk* Well, they’re probably betting on the guys wearing the jeans not being the ones playing scratch and sniff.

Still, warmish day, raspberry scented jeans, mosquito bite on the leg…could lead to an interestingly comic performance, if the guy really doesn’t like smelling fruity or got them as a gift from a girlfriend and doesn’t know they’re scratch and sniff.

You’re so fun! But actually I think you’re afraid of the “bees” they would attract! 🙂

Hmmm… Is it appropriate to sniff the jeans of one you’re not in a romantic relationship with? Has this ship perhaps passed me, because I totally don’t get it, except that maybe the company did it simply for the sake of doing it? Nice looking jeans, though. 🙂

I think you’re right, it was a “let’s do it because we can, and no one else is” idea.

I was raising an eyebrow at the scent of choice, though. What guy wants to smell like a Bonnie Bell Lipsmacker?

Raspberry is about the most unlikely scent choice I can think of.

If you’re a dog it is, but I think most dogs would prefer Strange Cat, Roast Beef, or Dead Skunk to raspberry.

        “Strange Cat” — I think that’s a great name for a scent! 🙂

Me too! “What’s that scent you’re wearing?” – “Strange Cat, of course”.

Good grief! I don’t know quite what to say. How on earth did they arrive at raspberry? Not that I was expecting vintage Farnesiana or anything. (But would like it 😀 .)

Maybe to appeal to the fruity-floral wearing young ladies in a similar age demographic as well as to offer potentially nauseating pickup lines for said ladies, and excuses to adjust oneself when the parents call them out on it? “I’m not adjusting anything! I’m making sure my jeans still work!” That’s all I’ve got. *shrug*

But yeah, if these smelled like Bandit or even something interesting like Jasmin et Cigarette or something, I’d be intrigued.

There has been scented panty hose in Japan now for several years, It must be the same technology. Why was the first thing I thought of was farting in public and then covering it up with a quick scratch! Toot toot, scratch scratch, ahh no one will know LOL Sorry about that image, but seriously my first thought!

Those have been around for years in Japan. They like anything that you can scratch and sniff. I remember we used to get scented stickers, notepads, pencils and shoes.
