Calvin Klein CK One Summer 2012 ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 January 2012 7 Comments

Calvin Klein CK One Summer 2012

Calvin Klein will present the annual limited edition version of the CK One Summer flanker in March. This year's model goes for "surfer chic" and "a splash of refreshment on a hot summer day at the beach".

The notes for the fruity woody aquatic unisex fragrance include blue mint, cucumber, lime, bergamot, green apple, rosemary, water lotus, aquatic accord, rum, sandalwood, driftwood and sea moss.

Calvin Klein CK One Summer 2012 will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette, in a bottle with a cracked glass effect.

You can see past versions here: 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007.

I kinda dig the cracked glass effect. Am imagining how it would look on some other well-known bottle shapes.

I like the bottle too … and the crazy lime color.

    this doesn’t sound too bad

i had issues with the ones from the last few years cause they ended up being either too aquatic or floral. i like my ckone summer frags to smell fresh and fruity lol.

the cucumber, rosemary (!!!) and rum sound interesting

Aquatic mostly rules me out, but it might be nice. I do like driftwood notes.

Mass market aquatic is along the lines of bathroom freshener in most cases …

I like the bottle but i’m uneasy around unisex fragrances. What is unisex anyway? For me JCH’s series Les Jardins xxx is unisex, and beautiful. But CK feels masculine somehow. Actually the right word for CK’s unisex fragrances is “androgynous” although it would probably not sell well.

Hi there, complete newb here! Just wondering if anyone had tried this yet? The description is exactly the same as Summer 2009. I haven’t tried either but a friend recommended Summer 2009, as I was looking for a fresh cucumber scent (this is probably a huge faux pas on a fragrance website, but I miss the Impulse Zen body spray from my teenage years! Was looking for something cheap and refreshing to wear in the daytime).

I think it got a good review on a blog, but sorry I can’t remember which one….I have not smelled it yet.
