Me neither

Directed by Sofia Coppola, who as you probably remember also directed the last commercial for Miss Dior Chérie.

The blood is sort of primal

In terms of the process of creating the perfume, I wanted to extract the feeling and the sense of blood and semen from molecular structures...That is in the perfume but it doesn't smell like it.

You just get the after-feeling of sex from the semen and then the blood is sort of primal. It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it's a sense of having me on your skin.

Christian Dior Diorama ~ fragrance review

Who is your favorite perfumer? Mine is Edmond Roudnitska. In my dreams, Roudnitska insists on naming a perfume after me. “You martini-breathed temptress,” he says, “I must capture your essence in fragrance!” He casts his eyes over me, taking in my tangled hair and rumpled vintage dress ornamented with pet fur. He intuits my every thought, even those few not having to do with what I’m going to eat next. Then he creates Eau d’Angela. A masterpiece.

Sadly, Roudnitska is no longer with us. I’m stuck with having to find Eau d’Angela among the perfumes he’s left behind. Of that too-small legacy, one of the few I hadn’t given a thorough investigation until just this month was Christian Dior Diorama.

Diorama was released in 1949, the second of Dior’s fragrances after Miss Dior. In recent years, to buy Diorama and another classic Dior fragrance, Diorling, you had to go to the Bon Marché in Paris or Roja Dove’s boutique at Harrods in London…

Posted by Robin on 21 February 2011 61 Comments

Kildale Post Box

So, Sam. She’s looking for a fresh and pretty — but interesting! — fragrance for day, and she wouldn’t mind a new fragrance for night, either. That one should be interesting and sexy, but not something “so niche-y that [she] will smell like a damp basement floor and send the boys running”. Sam lives in Los Angeles and has good access to perfume stores, and she can pay up to $120 per fragrance. Here is what we know about Sam:

She’s a college student in her early 20s.

She’s majoring in film and French.

She says she is outgoing, fun, and affectionate, but also dramatic and intense.

She loves old movies, books, fashion, traveling, and has just recently become interested in perfume.

Sam loves orange blossom and incense…
