Czech & Speake Vetiver Vert ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 December 2011 10 Comments

Czech & Speake Vetiver Vert

British niche line Czech & Speake has launched Vetiver Vert, a "modern interpretation of a classic masculine fragrance". It is the brand's first new launch since 2003.

Vetiver vert opens with rich and sophisticated citrus top notes of bergamot and mandarin. Focused by green and balsamic middle notes, laurel and galbanum cause the scent to be long lasting, completed by sweet and woody base notes of vetiver and sandalwood.

Czech & Speake Vetiver Vert is available in 100 ml Cologne Spray, £75.

Been on a bit of a vetiver kick again recently. Ok, now where to get my hands on a sample of this 😉 Lets see how this stacks up against my bottle of Guerlain.

There is a thread at Basenotes (sorry I don’t have a link, but you can find it w/ Google) — several people who have tried it say it is not vetiver-heavy, but it’s a good scent.

If you’re in the UK, would guess you can get a sample easily, but if you’re in the US you may have to wait.

Thanks Robin, yeah my next hop was right over to basenotes after seeing your post pop up in Google Reader.

Yep, I’m in the US. Also went to the C&S website and looked at the sample ordering option. I think I might head onto http://sampleshop.blogspot.com/ and get into a split offering from the guy running Garry’s sample shop. Splits as low as 5ml starting around $12.50. I have seen this guy around on Badger and Blade and Crystal Flacon, seems to offer some good options. (NOT AN ENDORSEMENT, NEVER BOUGHT FROM HIM YET)

In the lingua franca of fragrance, isn’t Vetiver Vert like saying salsa sauce?

LOL — I do know just what you mean, but to me it’s helpful if it gives me a clue to how they’re going to treat the note. Not all vetiver fragrances are what I’d call green, not by any means.

You’re right. And I do love vetivers of different hues. I have you to thank for my discovery of Vetiver Tonka, and Bal d’Afrique is another such non-green vetiver.

I have not yet tried Bal d’Afrique, I will put it on my list!
