David Jourquin Cuir Mandarine & Cuir Tabac ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 13 December 2011 5 Comments

David Jourquin Cuir Mandarine & Cuir Tabac

David Jourquin's eponymous niche line launched in 2011 with two fragrances for men, Cuir Mandarine and Cuir Tabac.

Cuir Mandarine Jour pour Homme ~ "Patchouly forever and always… vibrating to the contact of black pepper, mandarin and leather, sensual from blond Virginian tobacco, light like a champagne bubble heady from a fine lavender bouquet. Blended with fine lavender for the leading music. Leather, mandarin, black pepper and blond Virginian tobacco provide the chorus note. Five patchoulis from different regions of India as background music."

Cuir Tabac Soir pour Homme ~ "The heady and insolent notes of patchouly heighten the deep and profound tobacco and musk notes overturning the senses in a soft murmur of fine eternal lavender. Blended with fine lavender for the leading music. Brown tobacco, cigar and musk provide the chorus notes. Five patchoulis from different regions of India as background music."

David Jourquin Cuir Mandarine and Cuir Tabac are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, €168 each, and can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany.

Am I getting less tolerant of idiocy, or do the descriptions of these read like the copy writer was drinking when he wrote them?

That reminds me, when is Prix Eau Faux? I might just cut and paste that first one.
I think I’m also having fragrance launch fatigue. I’m tempted to make a resolution to spend the next year exploring the back catalogs of classic perfume houses.

That soon? I’ve got a good one to to enter.

Or, well, I’ve got one that makes me giggle, anyway.
