Dream a little dream of me

Posted by Robin on 1 December 2011 10 Comments

Marc Jacob's new commercial for Daisy (and Daisy Eau So Fresh). It's an awful lot like the old commercial for Daisy: girls, field, big bottles of Daisy.

The best thing about the commercial is the song. Love! Now I have to go to YouTube to hear the whole thing. Mama Cass was amazing.

It’s a classic. I didn’t really think it worked all that well with the particular look of the commercial though…thought the “I’m So Happy” song they used last time was a better fit, although obviously not a better song.

Those models are starting to look younger and younger. This batch seems pre-pubescent.

I swear the ladies in the first Daisy commercial looked even younger!

They look young but they are 20, 21 and 18 which is right in the Daisy demographic.

The environment seems like as if it was made in the 70s. Extremely childish concept.

These models look like they just came out of middle school. I also find it hard to respect a scent with strawberry notes. I just do. Maybe the strawberry will help them rein in the twelve-year old demographic.

I also find that the models look better in the “old style” footage rather than the modern one. Is it the lack of hi-def that gives a better face or are they using actual “vintage” footage?

One of them (or all of them?) remind me of Kirsten Dunst – actually remind me of ‘The Virgin Suicides’. Brilliant book, brilliant movie! Not sure its an association they were hoping to evoke though…

I really like Daisy, the ads, no thanks! They were so young looking, the ad looked comical. Ya, the song was the best part. I just can’t take an ad like that seriously! Lol.

I don’t get complaints over the ad / models looking young when isn’t Daisy meant to be a young fragrance? I mean I can’t really imagine anyone over the age of 20 wanting to have that ugly little bottle laying around, let alone wear that perfume.
