Tauer Perfumes Cologne du Maghreb ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 21 November 2011 13 Comments

Tauer Perfumes Cologne du Maghreb

Tauer Perfumes will launch Cologne du Maghreb, a new all natural fragrance, at the end of this month. Cologne du Maghreb was featured in Tauer's 2010 advent calendar give-away, and will be exclusive to Indiescents.

Like all colognes, the Cologne du Maghreb lives in the moment, and is made to last a short while, bright and fresh like the morning sun rising over a citrus garden in Sicily. The Cologne du Maghreb builds on the finest grade of Bergamot and lemon essential oils, combined with other carefully selected citrus treasures, such as luxurious neroli oil, the steam distilled essential oil of orange blossoms. Some notes last longer than the classical citrus chord. These are for instance Moroccan cedar wood from the high Atlas, cistus ladaniferus balms, or the warm orange blossom absolute. These notes add a twist to an otherwise classical cologne construction.

Lavender and rosemary essential oils build a herbaceous contrast to the fresh airy citrus choir and join rose absolute, rose essential oil and clary sage, bringing in a green ambery floral line and adding depth and character.

Tauer Perfumes Cologne du Maghreb will be $65 for 50 ml.

Sounds lovely. Sadly AT’s haven’t worked for me in the main (Lonestar Memories and the lamentably discontinued Orris being exceptions) though as I am decidedly not a rose girl it is perhaps not surprising. The recent White Pentachord is another exception so I will be interested to try this one. Plus I have recently fallen for PdE Azemour and am on an orange/orange blossom kick.

Really? It’s only just now being released? I won a bottle of this in the drawing Robin had here several months ago. It’s really lovely, juicy and herbal with the cedar drydown on me. I don’t get a lot of rose, but then that could just be the way my skin eats things up. I just counted my 1ml sample vials (the only stock I have left 🙁 ) and I have 15 left, so if you would like to try 1ml of this, please email me with your physical address at kalideva9 at hotmail dot com. First fifteen to respond get it. Otherwise I’m sorry, I’m totally out of vials after this!
Robin, I hope it’s ok to post this. If not, feel free to delete my comment. 🙂

It’s ok, but for your own sake maybe come back and respond to your own comment when they’re gone!

Lol! I will. I will also respond directly to those first fifteen as well. The rest I will respond with a simple “Sorry!” 🙂

That’s a very generous offer on your part.
I think I picked up a tiny decant from the Posse swap from this summer. It veers a little more masculin on my skin with more prominent woody notes if I recall correctly. Definitely smells like a Tauer, though. I’ll have to go and revisit.

Well, when I get good luck like winning a fb of a Tauer perfume, I kinda like to spread the luck around. Good karma, et al, ya know.
I would definitely say CdM pulled more masculine on me as well but I definitely tend to wear more masculine scents anyway, so I was fine with it.
And just a note to everyone, while it is a Tauer, it’s also a cologne, so while I found it lasted longer than most colognes, it doesn’t have the same staying power as other Tauers I’ve tried. As usual, YMMV!

Am I doing this correctly? Where did you want our addresses for the sample vial? I don’t see another way of emailing you. Sorry not having a tech savvy day.

Zee, just send a request to my hotmail email which I listed above. I spelled it out instead of writing it the normal way to avoid creating a hot link. (I think this is what it’s called. I’m not terribly computer with-it myself.) It’s kalideva9 at (the symbol @ ) hotmail dot (.) com. Does that make sense, or did I just confuse you more?
