Tableau de Parfums Miriam ~ new fragrance

Tableau de Parfums Miriam

Tableau de Parfums, a collaboration between Andy Tauer of Tauer Perfumes and filmmaker Brian Pera, will debut next month with Miriam, a new fragrance for women inspired by the short film of the same name, which is part of the Woman's Picture film series:

Miriam, the first fragrance of the Tableau de Parfums line, reaches back in time. It is a fragrance inspired by the first episodic short of Woman’s Picture, featuring Ann Magnuson in the title role, which gives life to a character in the middle of a storm of memories and an uncertain future.

Andy Tauer on Miriam’s creation: “I have seen the movie MIRIAM over and over again. From the very beginning, I was sure that any perfume inspired by Miriam must reach out. It is very present, and without being overpowering it makes itself heard, from the first spritz. It is present but gets never loud. You spritz it in a room and the fragrance will instantly add an aura to this room, fill it with a fine fragrant air. You spritz it and you go “ahh!”. You find this “ahh!” in one of the first scenes of Woman’s Picture with Ann Magnuson, who plays Miriam, a home shopping network saleswoman, spraying a perfume in front of the camera. My challenge was to come up with a fragrance that is born in the forties of the last century, but created today: How to find an aesthetic language that bridges this gap! How to create a fragrance that conserves this vintage spirit but fits with Miriam who lives today. I hope I managed. Miriam is definitely vintage, or rather vintage-like.”

The notes feature bergamot, sweet orange, geranium, violet blossom, rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, violet leaf, lavender, vanilla, orris and sandalwood.

Tableau de Parfums Miriam will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum. It will be introduced at Luckyscent's Scent Bar in Los Angeles on 10/7.

I am dying to try this. Haven’t lucked out on any of the sample draws yet. This one might have to be a Christmas gift! 🙂

Can’t wait to try this. When you purchase at LuckyScent, will it come with a copy of the DVD of the movie?

Yes, I am sorry, I should have told you… the 50 ml sized fragrance comes with a DVD of the movie Miriam and with a 16 pages novelette that tells MIRIAM’s story titled “From the Desk of Miriam Masterson”. What all goes into the 50 ml sized perfume box, and how it is packed, I explain epically in my packing video on vimeo:

The scent sounds very pretty, and I’m quite curious about the film as well!

I have seen several clips from the movie. It’s really well done and it should be called Perfumista’s Picture as it has a special appeal for us. 😉 Being a fan of vintage fragrances, I can’t wait to try Miriam and experience Andy’s take on the genre.

I’m very very excited about this one, more so than for any of the other new releases of the year.

Have loved seeing the film clips, too.

This project has been the coolest thing to follow; I am very excited about this scent, especially, given that it sounds like such a vintage scent!
