It’s interesting that he can’t translate a fragrance with too many aldehydes into a good dessert. Scents like Chanel No5 always register as “chemical” and not much else when I smell them, like my brain is telling me, “Don’t eat this, it’s toxic.”

OMG OMG OMG! Can I brag for a moment? I cannot believe the timing of this post!
I am sitting here right now at home looking at my very own bottle of Núvol di Llimona that I purchased about 2 weeks ago…. Sept. 15th, 2011 after eating at El Celler de Can Roca.
On one side of the box there is a description written in 4 different languages. The English version says:
“The fragrance draws its inspiration from a dessert: an all-pervading cloud of lemon surrounding a sponge cake treated to milk and sweeties. A creation conceived to rekindle likfe-affirming childhood memories and express emotions beyond age and gender: the smell of tenderness.”
Now back to me……
I just now spritzed some on and it really does smell like lemon soaked sponge cake. And, that is one of the desserts we had that night. The dessert and the fragrance are lemony, light and sweet but not toothache sweet. It’s a nice balance, as was the actual dessert.
If anyone interested, I can take a photo of my bottle and the menu from that night. Let me know.
As for the food at dinner, it was a tasting menu. We could not pick and choose. You were at their mercy. I loved the creativity and the artistry behind the dishes and how they looked. However, I am not super adventuress with my foods, so for me, I liked about 30% of what was served and the desserts were my faves. 🙂 On the other hand, my husband who is a gourmet FOODIE to the max, well, he was in HEAVEN! Every single bite he took was the like the first time over and over….. And that is what matters the most to me….. he was happy.
The perfume is nice as I sit here typing this and sniffing my wrists. It is as described on the box, a scent of tenderness.

It’s available on the restaurant website now, but shipping to the US costs almost as much as the bottle. It’s 50 Euros for the perfume plus 43 Euros for shipping.
