Like a circle in a spiral

Model Eva Mendes in the new commercial for Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Toilette. You might remember that she is also doing the singing; the song is Windmills Of Your Mind.

I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. In general, I don’t think Mugler’s advertising is ever as bold as the fragrances. But liked this better than the last one, that they did with whatsherface, the blond one.

Has anyone tried the new edt? How different is it from the original?

I tried and found no much difference from the original, It was a quick sniff on a strip paper so must come back and spray on skin. I guess if you didn´t like the original you wont like this one either

Thanks! I like the original so I wondered if this new edt had been re-worked in any way.

It’s lighter and fruitier – much easier to wear. I like it.

Just read that it has “new notes of cedar and white musk”, in case that helps.

I liked the commercial….I know people said some less than kind things about the singing but I think she did okay and I like the idea that she did the singing rather than having some professional provide the voice (although, Eva, girlfriend; stick to acting)

Can’t abide the original Angel….so I can only hope this version is less heavy. I apologize to all the Angel devotees but I’m a well known chocolate-perfume hater. Can’t change me now!

She’s not a good singer, but there’s a charm to the amateur quality of her singing, you know?

I think Eva Mendes is a pretty good fit for the Mugler aesthetic in terms of fashion, especially, but for the fragrance too. I have a feeling that in real life, she wouldn’t touch the stuff. 🙂

I liked the spot. She had a kind of lilting quality to her voice when she sang that was kinda endearing. And I thought she was cute in ‘Hitch’ and ‘The Women’.
I still have a couple of Angel samples in my shoebox that I’m actually afraid to try because of all the negative press it’s been getting, but one day my courage will prevail.
