DKNY Delicious Candy Apples Sweet Strawberry & Fresh Orange ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 25 July 2011 11 Comments

DKNY Delicious Candy Apples Sweet StrawberryDonna Karan has added two new fragrances, Sweet Strawberry and Fresh Orange, to the Delicious Candy Apples series (see reviews of last year's trio, Ripe Raspberry, Sweet Caramel and Juicy Berry).

Sweet Strawberry (shown) ~ "This new scent takes the senses in a strawberry swirled journey...The pink explosion bursts with scrumptious and delectable notes of strawberry mousse and sparkling bergamot, wrapped in a luscious orange flower. Decadent at its heart, a blush of pink lady apple blends with a creamy bouquet of juicy jasmine petals and pretty pink peony as the feminine touch to this pink sensation. A sugar coated cascade of cotton candy, smooth sandalwood and skin musk blend for a long-lasting signature that is truly irresistible."

Fresh Orange ~ "This delectable fragrance is bursting with mouth-watering fruits and beautiful blossoms...Captivating from the start, the fragrance opens with tantalisingly fresh top notes of crisp juicy mandarin, sumptuous passion fruit and dewy muguet from an invigorating introduction. It’s alluring heart creates a powerful combination that permeates throughout the fragrance – succulent tentation apple, fizzy orange sorbet and iced jasmine tea, wet luscious drops for a frosted delight. Ready to defrost, the fragrance melts into a fusion of airy musk, sensual orris and whiteamber hues, creating a uniquely distinct signature."

Donna Karan Delicious Candy Apples Sweet Strawberry and Fresh Orange are available now at The Perfume Shop in the UK, £29.50 each for 50 ml Eau de Parfum. (via theperfumeshop)

sadly, DKNY is quickly going the Mariah Carey “Delicious Angel Candy Butterfly Honey Pink Love Dream” perfume naming route.

“delectable beautiful Captivating fresh crisp juicy sumptuous dewy invigorating alluring powerful succulent fizzy wet luscious frosted airy sensual distinct”

Those are the adjectives they describe the perfume with, and that’s just the second one! I would not survive writing for ad copy, I am way to conservative with my descriptions, I come from the school of thought that something can not really be that many things at once!

LOL! It is a bit much when you read it that way.

How about a samey rehash, tired, fruity sugared concoctions in a saturated market and a flogged-to-death genre ?? Maybe I should perk that up a bit…

That’s the Donna Karan line, which is miles away from the DKNY line 🙂
