Bruce Oldfield Eau de Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 13 July 2011 9 Comments

Bruce Oldfield Eau de Parfum

Designer Bruce Oldfield will launch his eponymous debut fragrance later this month. The limited edition scent was inspired by the South of France in the early 1970s.

Bruce Oldfield Eau de Parfum was developed in conjunction with British perfume house Floris; notes include mimosa, bergamot, vanilla, ylang ylang and neroli.

Bruce Oldfield Eau de Parfum will be available in 100 ml. (via wwd)

Ooh! If it smells like some of the memorable 70’s releases, this could be good! Was that decade good for powerhouse perfumes like the 80’s? I rarely go for the ‘veil of scent’ option. 😉

      I don’t think they’re going for a 70s perfume.

Ooops! I saw “early 1970’s” and assumed patchouli! This must be *a la campagne*! (in the countryside)

It does sound lovely, actually. Glad there’s no patchouli!

There aren’t really any base notes listed, so I wouldn’t be too sure.

The bottle, at least in the release, looks alot like those wonderful Killian black bottles.

Hard to tell in that picture, but yes!

The South of France in the early ’70s? I was there. Nice on a summer evening… wonderful, even in the city centre. I was beginning to get excited until I read the name ‘Floris’. 🙁

I have not tried their more recent releases, so don’t know what they’re up to these days. Their older scents don’t get me worked up, other than Malmaison which is now sadly gone.

I know exactly what you mean when you hear ‘Floris’ – boring old soliflores – but this year they released 2 new frags: Sirena and Mahon Leather both a worth a sniff if you come across them. It made me think that just maybe Floris was waking up. I will look out for the Oldfield.
