I don’t know her, but didn’t think much of that cover either.

    InStyle June issue:

Two Krigler scents were featured in the Editor’s Picks of the Beauty section – Krigler America One 31 and Krigler Lovely Patchouli. Senior editor Patricia Tortolani says, “Jackie O wore Krigler’s patchouli spritz; Hemingway was a fan of the black pepper blend. Now my husband and I wear them. Talk about a power couple!”

Jo Malone’s Lime Basil & Mandarin Limited Edition David Hicks Candle was also an editor pick on the same page, as was Molton Brown’s Desert Bloom Intense Hand Rescue. “Using this exotic-flower-scented hand cream is like a mini-vacation in middle of my workday,” said InStyle.com senior beauty editor Hannah Morrill.

In a sidebar (p.252) of this month’s special Sexy section entitled Be Eau-So-Bold, Dr. Alan Hirsch, neurological director of Chicago’s Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, tells us that “perceptions of scent are stored in the same area of the brain as memory” and that “if you wore a scent in a situation where you felt very sexy and confident, you will be able to tap into those feelings by spritzing on the same scent at a later time.”

In the same sidebar, Frederic Malle suggestions for those craving a “lustworthy” fragrance: “Guerlain’s Shalimar or my Musc Ravageur have roaring sexy notes, like amber, sandalwood, vanilla and bergamot. It’s an invitation to get closer.” For those who like it lighter, he suggests, “Try a nice eau de cologne like Bulgari’s Eau Parfumee au The Vert, my Bigarade Concentree, or Annick Goutal’s Eau d’Hadrien.”

Very interesting! That’s a far better line-up than most mags. I wonder: does this mean someone on the staff actually likes perfume, or that the smart marketing money goes with InStyle, or what?

Not sure what accounts for it, but month after month, InStyle seems to cover more scent than most.

Forgot the scent strip. Just one this time. Well, actually two on page, both from Coach: Coach Signature and Coach Signature Summer.
