Elie Saab Le Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 9 May 2011 20 Comments

Elie Saab Le Parfum

Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab will launch Elie Saab Le Parfum, a new floral fragrance for women, in July.

Elie Saab Le Parfum was developed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian; notes include orange blossom, jasmine, patchouli and cedar.

Elie Saab Le Parfum will be available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update ~ the notes will also include a rose honey accord, and matching body products will be available. In the UK, Elie Saab Le Parfum will debut at Harrod's in late June. (via diarydirectory)

Robin, I know this isn’t the place to ask this but are fragrance net dot com and perfume dot com trustworthy sites to order perfume from? Thanks 🙂

Those are two of the best online discounters out there. Very reliable.

Yes, I think they’re both good. Granted, they both advertise here so I feel funny answering!

You know what I’d really like to see instead of another patchouli floral? A perfume that smells like the interior of an old Saab. 🙂 Now that I would spend money on!

I wonder if it will be a patch floral, hard to say. We’ll see!

Francis Kurkdjian and orange blossom. Sounds familiar. Having said that he composes some lovely scents and I applaud the 30ml bottle so I will try it if I get the chance.

It is true, but so far, have seen so little description that it could smell like anything, you know?

Love the designer….I remember Halle Barry accepting her Oscar in one of his (I assume?) gowns.

That being said, the juice doesn’t sound like my thing….orange blossom and cedar are both generally big no-gos for me.

I wish him success with it, though!

Oh, that bottle! Be still my beating heart. I was going to write it off until I saw who the perfumer is. This could be promising, definitely worth a try.

I got to try this quite by chance at a perfumery in the NW on Sunday. Loved, loved, loved it! The lady in the shop says she reckons it will be a big seller.

Could you describe it a bit? I’m struggling to imagine it with only 4 listed notes. . .thanks!

It was very pretty, and powdery, and was kind of shot through with this radiant, bright quality that must have been the orange, while the patch grounded it and added depth. It was a wee bit like Agent Provocateur with a dash of Jo Malone orange blossom, but that is not really doing it justice. I wish I had a sample, but the lady in the shop just sprayed some on me from her Travelo atomiser thing. I love Francis K generally and this was delish.

I wouldn’t say it was particularly like Jimmy Choo – this is more powdery and JC had a sort of nougatine note if my memory serves me. But if you like bright, unashamedly feminine scents with powder you should be fine!

My Nordstrom, I’m assuming all as well, has it for pre-sale. I smelled it very quickly. I wish I had paid more attention to it. I like the bottle. The next time I’m there I’ll definitely be asking for a sample. : )

Just sniffed from the bottle today as I had just drenched myself in No. 5 EdT from a tester, but my initial impression was wow, very orange blossomy, intense and I would suspect long lasting and rather old school. I intend to go back and spritz to see how it wears, but I would say it’s not your usual insipid chemical mish mash designed to be safe and inoffensive in the most boring way possible. Lovely, lovely bottle too. Very promising.
