Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 6 May 2011 18 Comments

Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude

Estee Lauder will launch Sensuous Nude in August. The new fragrance for women is a flanker to 2008's Sensuous, and follows 2010's Sensuous Noir.

Sensuous Nude is "intended to evoke the personal, uninhibited mature [sic] of modern sensuality with notes that suggest bare skin"; the notes include bergamot, mandarin, pink and black pepper, jasmine, muguet, coconut water, honey, musk, sandalwood, amber, heliotrope, vanilla and Melted Woods NaturePrint.

Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum ($52-90) and in matching body products. (via wwd)

This sounds like it might be a “nude” with some substance. The notes all sound so lovely until you get that ugly punch of Melted Woods NaturePrint. (But I think those are the base of all the Sensuous fragrances, right?)

Yes…they’re all going to have that melted woods. But according to WWD, this one is muskier. We’ll see!

Wow, another flanker I am actually looking forward to trying! Bought the original for my younger sister and received Sensuous Noir as a X-mas gift and really enjoy it.
This could be great for summer, not as sweet maybe as the Noir?
I still LMAO at the “Melted Woods NaturePrint” – makes me think of those Shrinky Doo’s I used to put in the oven as a kid after coloring them in!

I should think not as sweet? And that would be nice, although I do like the original.

Well, I like both Sensuous and Sensuous Noir, and the concept of any “nude flanker” always appeals to me – not from the nakedness aspect, I hasten to add – but the subtly scented one. It is only the mention of heliotrope that troubles me slightly, otherwise this sounds perfectly pretty. And perfectly pretty is often what I go for!

Yes, I hope the heliotrope is light. We’ll see.

Sensuous Noir was fantastic, but I couldn’t smell the original Sensuous! I’m looking forward to this flanker, and hope I can smell it 🙂

YES! I’m down for a 30ml bottle for sure. Still don’t have a bottle of Sensuous Noir, need that too.

Both the original Sensuous and the Noir version are fine scents, but didn’t quite mesh with my chemistry (though my sister liked them quite a lot). I’ll look forward to trying the new version – EL does a good job with its scents, usually.

EL has yet again a new model: Isabeli Fontana. Liu Wen, Constance Jablonski and Joan Smalls joined Hilary and Caroline in EL ads this spring… but still they had to use yet a new face to represent Sensuous Nude.

I put in my order for a bottle of Bronze Goddess last week, and I’m pretty sure this is one of the freebies samples that comes with it. . .I suspect the original Sensuous is more likely to appeal to me, though. (On a related note, there is not a single bottle of BG available from Nordstroms in the entire state of Oregon. . .they checked for me! I guess we really need some sunshine in this drippy season! I had to order my bottle directly from EL.)

What I really want/need is a new Private Collection scent from EL. sigh.

That said, I have and like both of the other Sensuous scents. This sounds kind of promising, too.

I personally liked the original Sensuous, but thought it was a bit boring and not worth buying….and then Sensuous Noir came out, which had the notes I liked from the original and then some, and I was sold! 🙂 I just KNOW this new flanker will be worth a sniff, but I’ll have to see if it’s ‘buy-list’ worthy…. 😉

I adore the original Sensuous, and when I smelled the Sensuous Noir I thought it was too masculine for my taste– I rushed out to smell the new Senuous Nude at Nordstrom yesterday and found it so weak.. very powdery and not as much depth as the original sensuous. I’m going to give it another try since it’s possible the sales attendant sprayed too little on me.
