For the mum who has everything — hand cream with a ghostly-white octopus on the tube. 😀

Better yet, they’ve got one with a gun on it. What every Mom *really* needs, LOL…

Weirdly enough, this is what I am getting my mom, the one with the gun. I do like Bulletproof and she’s a sport shooting champ so I guess in her case its appropriate! She’d actually be more annoyed or weirded out if I got her the Ahava. “What am I going to do with this??!”

Good pick then! You should never annoy your mom on Mother’s Day.

Too bad those candles are so expensive, I love the graphic patterns on the outside.

They’re quite pretty! I’m so used to high end candle prices that these didn’t even make me blink 😉

Yeah. It’s all perspective. That said, I have a very hard time spending over $30 on a candle…have only done it once!

The candle price isn’t as discouraging as it probably should be. 🙂 But I still haven’t been able to make myself spring for the AG Noel candle. Maybe this year… I did pay $65 for a set of candles from Voluspa, but the box of eight or ten little tins lasted me two years so I didn’t feel to bad. My guilty candle purchase some years back would have to be the DL & Co. Memoirs of a Geisha candle duo, but at least they were on special. *hides behind hands* It took me ages to use them up, and even then I put the left over wax in my warmer to “recycle.”

I like the octopus. 🙂 They’re one of my fave animals right up there with bats and snakes. If only EL’d tackle those in one of those pretty compacts. 😉

I can vouch for the Noel room spray…I have a decant and it’s lovely! I have one expensive candle, by Astier Villate, and it was very hard to take the plunge. Might still buy a Cire Trudon though.

Just bought my first Cire Trudon a week ago. I am a little horrified to report that I enjoy it deeply nearly every day and have no remorse at all. (It’s the one that smells of Moroccan mint tea, btw. I have never smelled a mint note like this one–it is soft and grassy. Closer to fresh cut hay or basil than peppermint. And though the whole thing stays very soft and is never overpowering it is also, somehow, persistent, with an excellent throw, even when unlit. Guess this is just one of those times when you get what you pay for…)

A, that sounds so nice! Does it have good throw? That is always my complaint…I want to smell a candle from 2 rooms away.

Don’t know if it would be strong enough for you R. It is soft but pervasive. Definitely fills a room in ten minutes or so, and if the AC is on (so the air is circulating) I can smell it in the hallway on the way to my office.

Thanks! Will think about it. I worry more about “my money’s worth” with a candle than a perfume, it’s kind of silly.

Perhaps I am just not to that point yet, haha. I spent far more than that on makeup, but a candle… they go away so quickly!

Ha! My mother would *freak out* if I spent $65 on a candle for her! She won’t even let me buy her a meal on her birthday! It’s been a battle for years! (I do plan on buying an embarassingly large bouquet of flowers for her upcoming retirement, however! She can’t refuse them if they’re delivered at work!)

I wonder if they’re doing them this year? Mother’s Day is soon and they haven’t announced any.

Well, I made the whole circuit…Saks, Neimans, Macy’s and Nordstroms and nada! They all only had the ones they have already come out with in the past for the perfumes. They do have 3 new compacts or new to me, anyways for pressed powder makeup and they were all striking, but I don’t wear pressed powder makeup…dang it! The sales reps said they had no announcements about any coming out either. But I did end up buying Bronze Goddess, not the new one – Soleil but the other one and I can’t wait to wear it! And btw, it was sold out in Saks and Macys. I ended up buying it at Nordies.

Yeah, I was afraid they weren’t doing them for MD this year. But congrats on your Bronze Goddess!

Absolute Scentualist, I love the three animals that you mentioned! Have you seen the video of the coconut-carrying octopus? So smart and so cute! It’s at http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news/center/articles/2009/associated-press-12-15-2009b.html. Speaking of animals and perfume, have you seen the gorgeous bee bottle for Guerlain Abeille? Check it out at http://www.luxurylaunches.info/2011/03/16/guerlain-bottle-jewel/.
