Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 February 2011 14 Comments

Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense

Prada has launched Amber Pour Homme Intense, a new limited edition fragrance for men. Amber Pour Homme Intense is a variation on Amber Pour Homme, aka Prada Man (2006).

Four years after the launch of Amber Pour Homme, Prada has opened an intense new chapter in its amber family of fragrances, with a hypnotic and uncompromising fix for aficionados of this heritage accord. A pared-back roster of exceptional-quality raw ingredients is blended with the modern elegance typical of Prada fragrances, without cliché, in a search for the true heart of amber. Peeling back the layers of leather and barbershop soap present in the original scent, sensual patchouli and rich, warm vanilla are the stars of this distinctive cocktail; at once unexpected and recognizable, like a long-lost friend. Spicy myrrh and a citrus twist of bergamot complete the fragrance.

Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense is available in 50 ($55) and 100 ($75) ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at Nordstrom. (via nordstrom)

Less soap and more patch and myrrh? Yes, please!

I don’t think of myself as liking soap generally, but I love the shaving soap smell in Prada APH…looking forward to trying this but not counting on loving it.

Robin – are you going to do a full review…or will someone else? I am interested in a comparison of Prada APH and APH Intense…is it just a louder version of same?

I am sure Kevin or I will eventually…but sometimes we’re slow so you might beat us to it.

I love the original on my husband, so if this one smells nice I am def. getting it for him.

My impression was the original seemed intense enough? I’ll have to try this (and the original again) for sure though. However, something about Prada generally doesn’t work for me.

It certainly wasn’t too light for me.

“”The original was intense enough for me” was my thought exactly.
I bought a 100ml bottle in ’06 and I used it often, but never seemed to end it.
Last year I made myself a 20ml decant on a spray bottle and gave the big bottle (with a quarter of the juice still on it) to a friend.

I have 2 “ambers” in my perfume wardrobe.. one is the Prada, the other is the Kiehls oil (roll on).. I am curious as this seems as it is going to veer more into the Kiehls territory.

The original was pure soap on me –not in a good way, so can’t wait to try this version

I do like the original one but it has no silage in me and so i preffer Burberry Touch for Men, wich i think have the same olfactory direction, far more sillage and staying power. Do you feel the same?
