So they’re admitting it now, eh? Carried away… Why not just call it “We Should Be Stopped” or “We’ve Run Out of Ideas”!

I don’t know why, but this one seems particularly uninspired to me, yes, like they ran out of ideas and just rehashed all the old ones.

I very much agree… to me, this one is pretty close to the last release, Secret Wonderland, which also had raspberries I think (or was it strawberries?). And Secret Wonderland was basically a relaunch of the Moonlight Path flanker from last spring, Moonlight Magic, as a pillar fragrance since it sold so well.

They’ve been trying to make more “perfumey” perfume lately.

That’s the impression I got when they released Black Amethyst, which turned out to be a hot mess on my skin. The only fragrance I’ve really liked from them in quite a while was Vanilla Noir, and surprise surprise, I think it’s been discontinued. 🙁 I haven’t actually tried anything from the last year or two so can’t say for sure how the newest frags stack up.

I DO think it’s true they’ve made more perfumey perfume. Some of those have pretty clearly been ‘misses’ though. Examples..

PS I Love You – it’s a rose/incense/wine fragrance to me primarily. It’s definitely still sweet… but I wear it like once a week. You can’t beat the price either. But I don’t know how well it did.

Velvet Tuberose – I wasn’t a huge fan, but it was still a tuberose. I like using the bath products if I was going to wear a white floral perfume. It was just discontinued though.

Twilight Woods – still fruity/sweet (apricot), but did have a woodsy-smokiness to it. Also sells like gangbusters apparently.

Those are just two perfumes… it does seem that in the last 6 months they’ve turned back to ‘safer’ perfumes (see: Forever Sunshine, Secret Wonderland, Carried Away). But I still appreciate things about them… I really like the quality of the bath & body products for the price. It annoys me how much lotions for department stores perfume cost, when 9 times out of 10 they’re not very moisturizing or true to the scent.

I got a $15 BBW gift certificate for Christmas and I bought the lotion, body spray, and body wash for one of their new ‘Island’ collection scents… Bali Mango. I mean it’s straight up fruity, but sometimes you do want that, and the price is really just so good….

I liked Black Amethyst. Twilight Woods didn’t smell like much of anything to me. Maybe there’s something wrong with my nose.

My tweens love it, and I like it too! It’s a very pretty scent. It’s girly and sweet, but then again that’s BBW’s core audience, isn’t it? The bottles and packaging are cute.

I guess so, although they keep making motions like they’re going to try to expand their core audience (?) Agree on the packaging, they’ve really upped the cute factor lately.

Carried Away is pretty gourmand. I always get the $1 lotion previews, because 1. Hey! One dollar and 2. They’re really convenient for purses/diaper bags.

It is pretty clearly a raspberry cream fragrance… like a raspberry milkshake or raspberry shortcake with real cream. Not really my thing exactly, but kind of fun in a way.

      $1 lotions previews?
      Sounds fantastic!
      Where do you get those??

They do them for every new scent, usually for about 2 weeks before the scent officially launches.

Breathesgelatin, I didn’t get the raspberry sweet smell you did. I found it to be soft and almost powdery with some ooomph.

I was actually surprised that I liked it as much as I did. I don’t know if I would buy the fragrance but I did like the lotion and I am such a sucker for a body spritz.

    this sounds way too sweet!
the only one I really like is Butterfly Flower…. it smells like spring to me: I get star jasmine and a faint linden blossom… gave it to my mome and she loves it too.

I guess they should edit edit edit. Too much going on.
