Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2011, part 1

Posted by Robin on 7 January 2011 20 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

From Hermès, a limited edition bottle of 24, Faubourg inspired by the first-ever silk scarf from the brand, Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches (1937). 113€. (via marieclaire.it)

From By Kilian, limited edition bottles for Holiday 2010 (we are late!) inspired by art deco jewelry and design. There are 4 designs (only 3 are shown), ten bottles were made in each design, they can be filled with any By Kilian perfume. $395 each at Bergdorf Goodman, assuming they're not already sold out. (via press release)

The 2011 limited edition bottle for Clinique's yearly reissue of Happy In Bloom. At Nordstrom, $42.50 for 50 ml. (via nordstrom)

Chanel No. 5 purse sprays

From Chanel, purse sprays in several variations of the iconic No. 5 fragrance: Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette and Eau Première. Each is packaged in a set of three 20 ml sprays; the Eau de Toilette is $84, the other two are $115. Look for them in late January. (via cosmeticsmag)

Chloe Rose

From Chloé, a limited edition 50 ml bottle of the Chloé Eau de Parfum with a pink ribbon, due to launch in February. This one might turn out to be a new fragrance — if so, I'll update. (via nl.elle.be)

Question about Cloe and the pink ribbon. Is that tied in to the pink ribbon charity that raises money to fight breast cancer? If it is, bravo, but if it isn’t that doesn’t seem right. The whole Pink Ribbon thing is almost a brand name now…and looking at the bottle some people might think they’re supporting charity in buying it. Just wondering…

This looks like the honeysuckle pink (2011 Pantone’s color of the year) rather than the BC pink to me.

No idea, although if so would have thought they would have done it in Oct for BCA month. I kind of thought it was just a valentine’s day thing.

Faubourg always has such pretty bottles. Agree on the honeysuckle pink vs pink ribbon, but it would be more questionable if it were launched in Oct. I don’t find it misleading.

I’m not really a scarf person OR a bottle person, but it is really beautiful. Not too out of line with the normal price here, and I like Faubourg, so I think I’d pick it up if I saw it.

The Hermes bottle is just beautiful.

The Chloe bottle looks fine to me–I just don’t think a dif color ribbon qualifies as “collector” or even “new.” Of course I remember reading that the brand took forever to decide how the original ribbon should be tied, so I’m not surprised.

Also, the Chanel purse sprays look nice, but I just looove how there’s 3 pictures, and in each one it’s partially obscured. 🙂

and the eau de premier does not sound much more expensive than a bottle of the stuff…hmmm…

It’s still pretty much what it looks like though: a plain black column. Chanel doesn’t tend to do much decorating on the bottles!

simple, sleek and elegant. I like the C.D. addict bottle (a fancy coloured clumn) but would be a bit embarrassed taking it out in public – like their addict lipsticks – just waaaay ostentatious. These are a little better…maybe….

As if by Kilian did not already have a high proportion of packaging glamour (and price)!

Love that Hermes bottle! I can’t remember if I like the juice – will have to re-test. I wonder if it will come to US boutiques or just be available for Euros.

BK also did a holiday limited edition of the travel spray that looks very pretty in the photos on Luckyscent. It is $20 more than the basic travel spray. Say what you may about the packaging, those Calice Becker Kilians are among my top ten perfumes.

I love the 24 Faubourg bottles….always have….fortunately for my wallet I am fully stocked on 24 Faubourg so will be satisfied with looking at the picture online. (although I did just go get a spritz)

I’m sure the Chloe people would be horribly appalled to hear me say this —but the whole ribbon of a different color thing is just so silly….if I had a bottle and was entranced by the ribbon thing–I’d just drop by the fabric store, buy a variety of ribbon trims…and every week dress up my bottle in a different ribbon! Kind of like the lady on the other side of my sub that dresses up that silly goose on her front porch.
