Hello Kitty Secret Love & Hello Kitty Sweet Collection ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 21 December 2010 25 Comments

Hello Kitty Secret Love fragrance

A new perfume from Hello Kitty called Secret Love, clearly modeled on the Harajuku Lovers design.

It comes in 20 ml Eau de Toilette. I don't know anything about the juice, but it's hard to see how that matters. About 15€ at Douglas or Parfum Dreams in Germany, or £16 at Fragrance Direct in the UK (where they note that it is "a gorgeous and gentle fragrance for little ladies").

Hello Kitty Sweet Collection perfumes

Also out in the past year, the Hello Kitty Sweet Collection, with 5 ml Eau de Toilette bottles all featuring the same fruity floral with green apple, cherry, jasmine, praline, musk and vanilla. Available in travel retail. (via moodiereport)

If you missed it, see also the Demeter Sanrio collection part 1 and part 2, or Koto Parfums Hello Kitty Woman.

I want one. It can live with my Harajuku Lovers doll heads.

I kind of want one too, even though I don’t have the doll heads. When I first saw the first bottle, I thought it was a solid perfume for some reason. It seems appropriate for there to be a solid perfume, like so it could hang out in a little girl’s purse (or mine).

Lol- Robin, just saw your post on the Demeter Sanrios about them needing a Hello Kitty solid! Totally agree!

Sadly, I’d buy this too if it were sold anywhere near me. Not quite crazy enough to have it shipped overseas.

I don’t know about this item specifically, but Sephora will start carrying a line of Hello Kitty products mid-January. They had a sneak preview sale this past weekend (alas, I had no time to really look, and the link doesn’t work anymore).

I saw that! I didn’t look too closely either, as I was in a rush, but I THINK it was mostly make-up and accessories. I want to think that I’d pay more attention had it been perfume, but I could be wrong…

It was mostly makeup, but there were at least 2 perfume items.

Yeah, among other things, they had a Hello Kitty shower cap!?

Want! I love HK and the Harajuku Lovers perfumes and these sound great for spring. Of course, Sephora doesn’t help my HK fandom as they’re launching an entire HK collection (perfume, makeup, nail polish and accessories) in late Jan. according to a BI email I got. I’m usually not swayed by cute, but I just can’t resist Hello Kitty and have loved her since I was a little girl. 🙂

I hope they’re going to have the makeup bags. I need some, despite the fact that I hardly wear makeup, much less carry it around.

I won’t need one because, well… I bought one of the tokidoki ones. 😀 Terrible.

Ha ha! Who says “need” is a prerequisite for buying something cute, right?

I have to say, this appeals to me a lot more than the harajuka dolls. I am a bit of a hello Kitty fan – though I am unsure of how this particular perversion came about!

mind you, it may be that perpetually surprised innocent expression that does it. Then again quite a few child-motifs probably have this…

“Perversion”- lol! Yes, what is it about their innocent looks and Japanese-awesome design? I have no interest anymore in Barbie, Cabbage Patch, or many other American childhood pleasures…

That’s so sad. I miss my Tiffany Taylor doll from the 1970’s, along with her sister Tuesday and my Farrah Fawcett doll.

I dont know if Japanese design is always (as opposed to often) awesome – but if you mean the expressions of their characters are very often awed, I totally agree.

For me, the gateway drug was the cute school supplies. I was not a Hello Kitty fan, though — I liked other Sanrio characters.

Ditto. My aunt and uncle brought back some tiny colored pencils and other stationery items from a trip to NY, and I was hooked.

To me it was this little pink schoolbag when I was 6…
But I do miss the garbage pail swap cards – I still think those were cool!

I MUST get these for my daughter! She’s been a HK fan since she was four and I can’t ever resist HK stuff for her. Including HK band-aids.
