I’m confused! Is he cheating? Is it all in his head? Is he leaving the nice side of his girl to meet with the naughty side? The moment we are shown he is talking on the phone to a woman and not a hardened criminal is cool. And I really like the song. 🙂

I have no clue. It is a nice looking ad though.

The couple was role playing, see my comment below. I liked the ad a lot.

The original Dior Homme ad was more simple yet so much better.

Seems like it worked better as a commercial. This was fun but it’s hard to remember that it’s about Dior Homme.

I had no idea what the Sam Hill was going on, but I’ll give Jude Law 5 minutes of my time any day. It looked and sounded (and surely smelled) good, at least!

LOL…I’m sure that is what Dior would like to hear.

A little anti-climactic, but pretty good.

This is so annoying! This, if anything, would be the reason I wouldn’t buy another bottle of Dior Homme, as much as I love the perfume. It is so over-the-top aspirational, it’s out of touch. How many of us live this glamorously and “on-the-edge” (whatever this video’s muddled concept of that is)? I know I look nothing like Jude Law, act nothing like Jude Law, and I’m at a point of maturity where I don’t even want to. So to parade it as this ridiculous concept of what everyman should be (but no man ever is) is a sham, pure and simple. I don’t need this dark glamor to enjoy Dior Homme (not that I can afford anything else from their line but the perfume). I’d rather the perfume speaks for itself, without any of this hocus-pocus for those unhappy with who they are and would rather pretend to live a life that’s not their own.

      that is what marketing is….

There are ads that address you as you actually are in the life you are actually leading, and there are ads that allow you to escape that life, to fantasise. Most perfume ads belong to the latter category (and I guess there is an element of fantasy in all advertising). The Chanel No 5 ad with Nicole Kidman was another typical example.

I agree with what you say but the reality seems to be that the fantasy ads work the best, or we would not see so many of them. Clever is the ad agency that can breakout do something different with a perfume ad.

I bought this for my teen son and he thought it’s too sweet on him. So I wear it now and then it’s so gorgeous…. iris. My 13 yr. old girl also loves to wear it.

I personally think it’s visually stunning. And although the marketing leans a little toward the cheesy, I still fall for it. Every. Single. Time.

I like Guy Richie in general, but this I don´t like.
I like more the visuals than the sounds, I don´t like the music at all and the voices sound fake-y.

🙁 I wanted to like it! well.

I liked it much more than I thought I would from the teasers. Impossibly beautiful people doing exotic things, a bit like the Audrey Tatou ad for Chanel, (only much more puzzling). I don’t think I’d have a clue that it was an ad for a perfume, in fact, I’ve already forgotten which one! That great Egoiste ad may never be surpassed…

Oh I thought it was so much fun! The couple was role playing!
I laughed when the girlfriend dressed him, held the phone and then put on that fabulous hat and coat to meet her man in her “bad girl” persona at the Eiffel Tower.
But I do love drama and Jude Law.

That Was WICKED! OH HOW SEXY IS JUDE LAW!?!?! MERCY!! That is one Deliciously Saucy Commercial! Loving It To Death! 😀 Great Work Mr. Ritchie. Usually you can’t direct anything that’s watchable for more than 7 1/2 seconds! but this was quite Awesome!

Hmmm. Not sure I like it. Jude Law is impeccable, and his British accent is simply delightful, but the whole thing is just dragging for 5 minutes… Bit pointless. I think it would have been absolutely perfect… with two men! In fact I was expecting some Jude Law male lover to pop up at some point… Wouldn’t that be more intriguing? Dior Homme is so gebbder-bendingly intringuing…

It’s a wonderful fragrance, no doubt about that – I love it.

And the ad/film? Glorious in its photography and styling (I want that car!) and so tongue in cheek I actually laughed out loud at the sheer chutzpah of using the Tour Eiffel as a flagrant phallic symbol. Hilariously good.

The girl is hot – the shot at the end with the wind is really A+. I like Jude Law so it’s always good to see him. Although the opening sequence when he is getting dressed reminds me *a lot* of the editing of the scene in Out of Sight with George Clooney & Jennifer Lopez when they are in Detroit hotel and there is all that warm sexy jump editing of them before they sleep together. I think it is immaterial that Ritchie directed this, but it looks good. Definitely better than Bleu ad as noted above. I figured out they were roll playing eventually, but then again, I also thought it would be fun if they were twins, ha ha. Or he is just psycho and hearing voices in his head. You know it’s a fantasy at the end because there are no people at the Eiffel Tower!

In my sleep deprived state I just hallucinated about this ad. I think that it is actually a sneaky PR push for Ritchie and Law to take over the Bond franchise. Law would make a great “suave”/flawed Bond. I’ve not cared much for the Bond-as-Jason-Bourne movies that came out the past few years, although I have no problems with Daniel Craig….. I’ll shut up now.
