Crabtree & Evelyn Iris ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 28 August 2010 16 Comments

Crabtree & Evelyn Iris fragrance

Crabtree & Evelyn will introduce Iris, a new fragrance for women, early next month:

Inspired by the delicate beauty of an exquisite single blossom, Crabtree & Evelyn IRIS epitomizes the modern woman who blends timeless elegance and femininity with an essence of creative spirit. By using the finest ingredients, including the classic Iris rhizome, also known as Orris root, and the lively top notes of natural Italian bergamot and cassis, Iris is an elegant yet fresh scent for day or evening.

Additional notes include sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, cedar and creamy musk.

Crabtree & Evelyn Iris will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in a variety of bath, body and home fragrance products. (quote via hotbrandscoolplaces.co.uk, additional information via cosmoty.de)

Update: Crabtree & Evelyn Iris is also available in 30 ml.

Oh, I’ll absolutely have to try this. I’m a sucker for any iris, and this list of notes sounds lovely. I’m kind of surprised now that I think about it that C&E doesn’t already have an iris scent, but at least they’re catching up now!

I’m surprised too — maybe they used to have one & it’s discontinued?

This does sound interesting – Iris is so iffy for me, but I’m getting there. I just keep trying. Hopefully it won’t be like bleu cheese, which I have been trying to appreciate my whole life. I finally broke through to small amounts of gorgonzola, but that is all I can take.

Iris is my new obsession. Just bought Prada Infusion d’Iris, and this one sounds very tempting, too!

This sounds lovely. I hope to sample it soon — there’s a shop I sometimes visit in another town that stocks Crabtree and Evelyn. One of my favorite “everday” scents is their “Evelyn Rose”, which I usually wear throughout the spring.

I’ve caught myself in so many typos lately. That was supposed to be “everyday”.

It IS a gorgeous scent! I received a sample of the iris lotion just last weekend and I am loving it. I’m having a difficult time deciding between this and l’Occitane’s Notre Flore Iris perfume. I think I’m leaning toward Crabtree’s, as its notes are a bit more complex. I love that the iris is floral without being too…well… floral? A really lovely, feminine, sexy scent. (Oh and the lotion itself was awesome too!) I highly recommend it.

I tried this at C&E outlet store and loved it. Unfortunately my husband didn’t, so I won’t be wearing it around him. Lol! He is just not into florals at all, even the earthier, more complex ones.

it’s really, really nice! I like it, and am going to buy it for myself. Usually i like to get the opinions of people around me, but this is subtle and unique, so i can’t see how anyone else wouldn’t like it….I kind of wish it were a wee bit more noticeable…but that’s probably just because I’m used to that now. It so inexpensive, and I think it’s versatile, and it doesn’t smell cheaply made!

I got a sample of this yesterday and am wearing it now. It’s a very rooty, not-sweet but not-harsh iris, very true to what I think good iris smells like, and it doesn’t smell nearly as cheap as it is. $25 for 50ml! I know the press release info says 100 ml, but the 50ml were there at the C&E at my local mall. And an adorable bottle to boot!
