So…a minute of gratuitous snapshots of Paris (and irritating music) only for her to, at the very end, say something which is so generic the consumer doesn’t learn aything about what the perfume actually smells like!

In all fairness, that’s true of nearly every “behind the scenes” or “making of” or other sort of perfume promo — they only rarely talk about the perfume, in fact, she told you more than some of them do. This one, however, is still duller than most unless you love looking at Paris Hilton.

I understand she is playing the whole Marilyn Monroe angle with the blonde tousled bob and retro lingerie, which appeals to me . . .
But then she starts speaking and I CRINGE.

      It’s pretty bad, agree!

I was cringing from the start. PH’s aping of Monroe is gotesque, hideous. I was tolerant of PH’s fragrance efforts, until now.

One of the department stores in the mall nearby has a section for the discounted perfumes…the ones that go for about $20/bottle. ALL Paris’s “creations” were sitting there yesterday, from the first to her last ‘Siren’ I believe it was. Guess they’d better make room for one more….

Parlux’s strategy seems to be to do 1 or 2 a year and ignore the old, which probably makes sense given the product & the audience.

“I wanted to make an ad that makes me look blond, but stupid”.
