Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Terrible ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 July 2010 21 Comments

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Terrible

Jean Paul Gaultier will launch Le Mâle Terrible in October. The new fragrance for men is a flanker to 1995's Le Mâle.

Le Mâle Terrible was developed by perfumer Aurelien Guichard, and is described as Le Mâle pushed to extremes. The notes include grapefruit, pink pepper, lavender, vetiver, vanilla and amber.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Mâle Terrible will be available in 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette. (via veraclasse.it, parfumo.de)

The Fleur one is nice, but I’m seriously put off by that bottle.

I thought the original was quite terrible enough. It doesn’t help that those who like it don’t understand the concept of moderation.
Ther feminine scents are a lot better.

I’m sure the name is a play on “enfant terrible,” but I can’t help thinking that it was a Very Bad Marketing Idea.

It works for me done w/ a French accent, otherwise, no dice.

ooh it does sound a lot better w/ a french accent 🙂

I’m just waiting for all the comments once it’s launched saying how “terrible” it is :L

Nearly as bad a name as Sean John’s Unforgivable.

Unforgivable did not seem to thwart sales in any way though…and perhaps this one won’t either.

Well, when reviewing this fragrance the headline “Review Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Terrible” may not be the best thing. Haha.

So for the past 15 years, have they done anything other than Le Male flankers?

A few other things. And lots of Classique flankers too.

I am so sad to see an other flanker for this fall, what happened to Jean Paul Gaultier ? No more inspiration ? Fleur du Male, Ma Dame, Classique X and now this terrible Le Male. What’s next ? la nuit du Male, Classiquissime, Ma Dame Monsieur bonsoir….

Boring, boring, boring, boring….Please stop and do something, even Hugo Boss is more creative.

Wake up, I still love you…

Ok, I know it’s probably just the angle of the photo, but that bottle looks more, uh, suggestive than the original Le Male bottle.

I have a straight male friend who likes Le Male but won’t buy it because he doesn’t want that bottle on his dresser!

    this actually smells nice

I don’t usually like Jean Paul Gaultier scents, they try too hard to smell “masculine”

but I like this one, I don’t think it lasted long on me though

Gaultier does not need flankers like this one. Its Le Male but a little bit more masculine and thats it. Le Male is no1 sold in my country so its not anymore for me…….Gaultier is such a creative and naughty designer ,thats why expected much more than this one ! JP you disapointed me 🙁
