At least they’re getting closer to me…..now if they could just make the leap over the Atlantic……oh yeah, and lower those prices a bit. (since I’m already making requests…)

I’m sure their next store will be a discount outlet right down the street from you, LOL…

The cap to the bottle? Can you buy just the cap? 😉

Oh GOD. There’s no way I can stop myself from going now. I have so far studiously avoided any of the Amouage scents, simply because I cannot even afford samples of the stuff, so why inflict the agony on myself? But this is bad. This is LOCAL.

Given that I’ve never so much as sniffed a single one, and that I probably can’t properly concentrate on more than, say, six at a time, which ones would you recommend I focus on first? Lyric? Ubar? Help an Amouage newbie out!

Amouage Gold, then Jubilation (and for both of those, would try the women’s & the men’s), then Lyric, the Attars, then the rest 🙂

Robin – I’m surprised your list doesn’t include Ubar!
        😉

I liked the old Ubar better. The new one is nice but don’t think it would be universally loved…wouldn’t really recommend it as an “entry” Amouage.

I can completely sympathise – it is LOCAL and therefore practically a requirement for me to visit. I yet to sniff an Amouage (at least knowingly) but given the amount of swooning they induce on here, I am sure that this could turn out to be a painful/expensive visit!

my favorite Amouage is Dia —then it’s a toss up between Lyric and Jubilation 25 closely followed by Gold (women). The only man’s Amouage that really is begging me to buy is the men’s Dia….but I know AnnS lurves the men’s Gold…and Robin’s got a hankering for Jubilation XXV…..Ciel is barely worth the time to sniff and Reflection is a little hard on my sinuses…..Clearly you will need to make several trips. Maybe you should leave your bank cards at home? (just as a precaution) 😉

But I need my bank cards for emergencies! 😉

…you take your bank cards into an Amouage Flagship store and I guarantee an “emergency” of the financial variety in your near future.
My cards would go into cardiac arrest before I crossed the threshold.

You guys are so awesome. Right, Gold first. Then the two Jubilations, then Dia and Lyric. Save Reflection and the Attars for another time? Does that sound like a good plan?

Exactly the same as Daisy! Dia was instant love for me, the stuff makes me swoon. I also love Lyric and Jubilation.

I tried Tribute last week and adored it. It starts off with very smoky incense which then morphs into a birch tar/Cuir De Russie sort of leather with a hefty dose of rose. Gorgeous!

Ubar is very, very bright. It’s the one Amouage that I simply can’t bear even when dabbed.

Btw, Les Senteurs stock Amouage and they give free samples in store, don’t they?

I have not tried Lyric, but have LOVED Gold, Dia, Jubilation, and especially Ubar. Homage attar is nice, but Tribute was pure ashtray on my skin, and it never turned into anything better. I finally scrubbed it off after about 4 hours. Gold and Dia (women’s) are both florals, but Dia is a little lighter.

I would say try Gold first, since that was their first scent, then Dia for comparison, then Jubilation, Ubar, Epic, and Lyric (judging by the comments they get on this site).

I just ordered a sample of Epic a couple days ago, it will be my first foray into Amouage. Looking forward to working my way through it all (or most of it anyway)!
