I’m kind of glad I don’t, since I think I might go a little nuts at this. I have enough self-restraint problems as it is. 🙁

a big second on that, KittyV. Best to steer clear of places like Aedes on a normal day much less a special Amouage debut…. I know I’ll be chomping at the bit for samples as soon as they’re available…maybe I’ll get lucky and hate them all. Just like I was uber-relieved to not fall in lurve with any of the Xerjoff line (whew, dodged the fragrant bullet of debt)

I got the XerJoff sample pack, and so far I have liked most of them, but have not fallen in love with any of them, except maybe Ibitira. I think it smells a lot like Apres L’Ondee, however, which I DO have a FB of, so maybe I’m off the hook after all.

thank goodness, right? Al’O isn’t exactly cheap but it’s a darn sight less than Xerjoff! I actively disliked a couple. The fact that I can’t remember which was which two weeks later is quite telling!

I didn’t like Lua at all, but the only one I actually hated was Shingl, which leaked out of the sample vial and all over the other 11 vials during shipping. When I opened the package, this utterly awful smell greeted my nose. I had to wash off the other vials and dispose of the leaky Shingl vial in the garbage can outside. I do like Oesel, Esquel, and Nio, but not enough to shell out $345. It has been fun trying them, though. Sometimes it is a relief to try something exorbitantly expensive and find out I don’t actually like it!

I visited Aedes when I was in NYC this spring and man, were they generous with the samples when I left. (Probably didn’t hurt that I purchased two FBs while there.) I fell in love with the Amouage Homage attar, which they had out to sample. I am not yet ready to pony up the cash, but if I do, I will order it through Aedes, since they were so kind as to have it available.

If they made one that actually smells like library stacks… I’m going to have to try Dzing.
