Posted by Robin on 25 May 2010 16 Comments

Boss Bottled Night by Hugo Boss

Hugo Boss will launch Boss Bottled Night, a new evening version of 1998's Boss Bottled fragrance for men. Boss Bottled Night is fronted by actor Ryan Reynolds.

Boss Bottled Night is a woody aromatic fragrance; the notes feature lavender, birch leaves, African violet and lauro amarello wood.

Boss Bottled Night by Hugo Boss will be available in 40 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. It is scheduled to launch in July. (via cosmoty.de)

If my memory doesn’t betray me… the original Boss Bottled smelled like Paloma Picasso’s Minotaure (which was very good IMHO… boss bottled was just a pale lookalike)

    This sounds interesting.

I am so not “up” on the Hugo Boss line. Never even smelled the original. Never smelled most of their newer stuff.

    What an extraordinarily ugly bottle.

Oh! I didn’t realize, until I saw a pic on another site, that it has a neck … I thought it was just a black bullet-shaped thing with flanges on the side (I guess those are actually reflections?) and the ginormous BOSS letters. It looked like an “ahem” personal massager.

Took the words right out of my mouth. That so looks like one of his mock-sexy faces he does that I can’t even take him seriously. And why is he so covered up??? lol

So disappointed in the shot too. 🙁

It’s like how Gucci managed to make James Franco look ridiculous as well.

I don’t know him, except that he’s married to SJ.

I don’t give two figs about Hugo Boss cologne – but I’m really hoping that they make a least one commercial that involves Ryan Reynolds removing his shirt. His pseudo-sexy face actually kind of cracks me up – because it’s like he’s in on the joke.

Just wondering–what is a Bottled Night? Is that anything like Time in a Bottle? I find many of these flanker names rather amusing.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen “African violet” in a list of notes before. I’ve tried (unsuccessfully) to grow African violets, and never detected any fragrance from them at all.

It’s probably just a regular old violet note.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for “US” too! HA!
