Express Honor for Men ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 May 2010 9 Comments

Express Honor cologne for men

Clothing chain Express has launched Honor for Men:

Confident. Bold. Edgy. Raw. Introducing Honor, our new, fresh fragrance for men. Inspired by a scene that's underground swank, a city that's no-rules cool and a life that never sleeps.

The notes for the watery fresh aromatic fragrance include fresh water accord, peppermint, basil, grapefruit, fig, green ivy, musk, vanilla and vetiver.

Express Honor For Men is available in 50 ($44.90) and 100 ($59.90) ml Eau de Toilette. (quote via express, additional information via press release)

“Underground swank” and the first note is fresh water accord? Given that, is actually sounds interesting (fig AND peppermint AND basil?) but it is Express so I’m sure it has somehow been dumbed-down for the average non-perfumista male. It will be at my mall though, so I”ll give it a sniff.

I heard the first Express scent, Reserve, was pretty good, but never did smell it. If you sniff this one, come back and tell us!

Reserve, to me, smells like D&G The One. I was not too thrilled with The One myself, but seeing as how its so popular, i guess im in the minority. Additionally, the test strip i sprayed with Reserve was stained a dark yellow/amber, so i wasnt going to buy a bottle and risk my clothes getting stained as well.

I’ll give Honor a sniff anyway when im in the mall next.

Now I can’t remember if I tried the masculine The One. I did not care for the women’s.

Fresh water accord = calone = smells like everything else, and I do mean everything. When will men stop wanting to smell like chemical plants?

If you haven’t heard, Express has launched a womens edt called Love Express. It’s on their website. It’s very fruity. Kinda like the new Coach Poppy. Nothing special but nothing dreadful. : )
