Liquid emotion

Posted by Robin on 17 May 2010 9 Comments

Michael Edwards of Perfume Legends: French Feminine Fragrances and Fragrances of the World 2010 talks to Richard Fidler as part of the Conversations series from Brisbane's 612 ABC.

You can listen here; it's about 25 minutes long and includes a capsule history of the modern fragrance industry and the growing influence of marketing, also fascinating details about specific perfumes from Jicky to Chanel No. 5 to Charlie to Samsara. Well worth a listen.

Yes, very much worth a listen but Michael Edwards’ mike is too low, so he is hard to hear. Is anyone else noticing that? I might have to wait until I get home, and use the headphones.

So Sydney is the Switzerland of the perfume world! Interesting interview, enjoyed hearing about the creation of Chanel No 5. Hopefully Michael Edwards will make a return appearance on The Conversation Hour in the not too distant future.

Yes indeed. A pity Richard Fidler was so obviously out of his depth. Didn’t seem like he’d given the topic of perfume any thought at all until 5 minutes before the show.
