Elemis Eau de Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 11 March 2010 16 Comments

Elemis perfumeBritish spa and treatment brand Elemis is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a new fragrance, Elemis Eau de Parfum:

An exuberant, aromatic signature scent that exquistely combines the exciting notes that Elemis have gathered from across the globe for it distinctive therapies.

The initial euphoric burst of zesty elemi and sweet grasses softens into a gentle, breezy marine accord that mingles with rich-yet-refreshing vetiver, helping to clear and centre the mind. As the fragrance deepends and unfurls, it reveals the warm and optimistic nots of patchouli, gaiacwood and oak moss. Much more than the sum of its parts, its olafactory impact and imprint is pure and precious. [sic]

Elemis Eau de Parfum can be found now at Debenhams in the UK, £35 for 30 ml. (via debenhams)

Had me at “sweet grasses,” lost me at “breezy marine accord.”

Hm, depends…is it salty, or ozonic?

Yes, good point Boo – I like salty. And all the other notes sound so nice. I’d like to sniff it.

I love ‘spa’ scents–they are meant to be soothing and relaxing.
And, sometimes, that is just what I want…

But what in the heck is “elemi”?

Elemi: a gum resin which introduces a light, fresh, balsamic-spicy, citrus-like scent.

oh dear, this sounds a bit like my contribution to the “prix eau faux” contest, I hope I’ll not be accused of plagiarism 🙁
(I am a bit jealous though, they’re better, I love the “pure and precious imprint”, grumble grumble)

It’s really tough to beat real life ad copy, isn’t it?

Don’t know about this scent, but their Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (got a small tube of it as a gift) smells *exactly* like SL Fleurs d’Oranger. It’s delicious. If it wasn’t so expensive, it would make the perfect layering cream for it.

I have actually tried this one. Released in Debenhams UK as an exclusive. Light fresh and the middle notes make me think of aqua gio a little.
