THAT is cool, clever, witty – and still sexy. What a contrast with most perfume ads – the ones made by people who reason that sex sells perfume, so the more overt the sexual references they can pack into 45 seconds, the better.

The thought that brainy women can be sexy never seems to occur to some ad people.

There’s nothing about the ad that makes me think she’s brainy, but yeah, at least it isn’t a naked woman writing on a bed.

I think a naked woman writing on the bed would be sexy AND brainy, R, depending on what it was she was writing. Writhing, however, would be another matter. 😉

LOL! Thank you. I meant writhing. Come to think of it, have we EVER seen a commercial with a woman writing anything? Other than with lipstick?

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the ad? I don’t like guns being used in adverts. Maybe it’s being British…

Yes, I had a twinge of that, much as I like the ad. I can’t ever see myself purchasing any of those bullet things. Too sinister.

I liked the ad, but in this case I was disturbed by the gun too.
I don’t know why, because, as Daisy puts it, all those naked photoshopped women in commercials are not a much better option.
But the gun didn’t feel right… don’t ask me to elaborate further ;)!

There’s certainly loads more guns on TV and in movies…and doing a ton worse stuff than just being pointed. Plus in movies they play it like it’s real and at least in the commercial it’s, well, an ad. So to me it doesn’t seem influential and/or dangerous. And it’s better than the mindless mostly naked, ready for sex attitude of so many perfume ads. Because that, I’m truly sick of.

Me too, with the exception of the Shalimar ad. Unfortunately, I fell head over heels for that particular one, because I fell for HER (Natalia Vodianova), or perhaps it is because I want to BE (look like) her? I wouldn’t mind having the looks of this woman either. I guess it is a low self esteem thing, which is exactly why I hate these ads in the first place, and people like me buy into the whole beauty/purchasing trap. Oh woes begone (a dab of perfume should do the trick)! I should be over this stuff by now, I know…

No, I don’t like the ad one bit.I don’t like the use of guns in movies and especially not in a perfume ad.It also looked low budget which it was.

Nope, I don’t like it either. I find it strangely dull, neither fun nor cool. Lovetosmell is right in that it seems low budget. Guess I’ve become spoiled lately what with all the Mandom and Old Spice around 😉

Very modern gangster. She and Johnny Depp. Totally attractive lady (obviously with a personality, thank god) and artsy backdrop. I liked it, but yes cringed a bit when she held the Gun up to the man’s face. (A riddle to me why she took HIS car?) What do people think of these frags? I have a bottle of Lady Vengeance, which is lovely. I suppose they are becoming darker (with gangster Midnight Oud the latest). I think I like Calamity J and Citizen Queen as well, but are they purchase worthy?

Citizen Queen is one of my favorite rose perfumes. Way back when I bought it I thought it was sooooo expensive that I felt guilty for spending so very much on a bottle of perfume!! oh, how I’ve changed in the last year or so! Now I think the JHaGs are kind of reasonable….

I was confused by the tying up part. If you’ve shot out the tire of your car, then why do you have to tie the man up to keep him from following you? And if you’re going to tie him up, then why do you have to shoot out the tire of your car and take his car? And how do you tie him up anyway–when you’ve got to hold the gun with one hand?

Of course the part about why you have to organize an illicit exchange to get a bottle of perfume that’s easily available on the internet doesn’t confuse me at all. That part’s art. 🙂

    I loved the music…

The police were already on the lookout for her car so she needed a different one? She made him tie himself up?

Or she just LIKED his car better, even though I couldn’t tell a difference between the two.

You know, the brand name has mildly repulsed me from the start. I’m thinking ‘Juliette has herpes’ wouldn’t have had us all rushing to buy; somehow a gun is supposed to come across as exciting. The concept of a romantic heroine being empowered by possessing a lump of metal that can make fatal holes in people seems pretty juvenile to me.

      LOL!

The name is meant to shock, I’d guess. The fragrances are so much more tame than the name.

I like her outfit. Beats Charlize Theron walking through a room while disrobing. That’s all I have to say for it, though.
