Flying fists of fury

Posted by Robin on 30 December 2009 11 Comments

The scent of a single chemical can turn peaceful, happy fruit flies into flying fists of fury.

For the first time, scientists have found a rage-inducing pheromone and the neuron that detects it in fruit flies.

— From Pheromone turns fruit flies violent at MSNBC.

Hmmm, great. Now I want a bottle of Flying Fists of Fury to set on my shelf next to my bottle of Super Funky Donkey.

I imagine FFoF smelling a little like black pepper on top, slightly overripe peaches, a touch of oakmoss on the drydown, and rage.

Flying Fists of Fury would be a great fragrance name 🙂

Fruitfly research always makes me chuckle: last week a headline writer was having fun in an article explaining that “homely” lady fruitflies reproduce more successfully because they expend less energy than “attractive” lady fruitflies who have to battle off scores of pesky suitors.

      Lol Joe. That’s great!

I wonder if they could get Jackie Chan as the spokesmodel for Flying Fists of Fury? He immediately popped into my head when I was trying to picture what the fragrance would smell like. Just keep the stuff away from the Ax body spray marketing team. I think junior high school teachers have a difficult enough time as it is. 🙂

It sounds like a new flanker for a Naomi Campbell fragrance 😉

The post above was meant to be posted under Absolute Scentualist post, not Joe’s… I guess I should stop posting randomly when I wake up for drinking water in the middle of the night 🙂

That’s ok, it was a good zinger in any case 🙂
